Job DescriptionFull time, 60-72 hours every two weeks. Straight night position from 7 p.m. - 7:30 a.m. Includes working every third weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) plus rotating holidays. $3,500 sign-on bonus $5,000 relocation assistance for those who qualify EmPATH is a dedicated healing environment separate from the emergency department, staffed with a multidisciplinary psychiatric team providing Emergency, Psychiatric, Assessment, Treatment, and Healing to those initially presenting to emergency rooms with mental health urgencies. Interested applicants should prefer working in a dynamic, team oriented, fast paced environment providing mental health interventions to patients with acute mental health urgencies in an Observation setting. Applicants will also appreciate the opportunity to collaborate with our EmPATH team and various community partners involved in developing Community Treatment plans.EDUCATION Graduate from a nursing program required. Baccalaureate or Masters in Nursing preferred. Minimum of a Bachelors degree in Nursing must be obtained within three years for those hired into an RN position after October 1, 2018. LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Minnesota required. Basic Life Support (BLS) current American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider card required per established policy. Non Violent Crisis Intervention (NCI) initial and on-going training (or equivalent) provided. American Nurses Association (ANA) Psychiatric - Mental Health Certification preferred. 4 years minimum experience as a psychiatric or chemical dependency registered nurse preferred. ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge of at least the following areas: abuse issues, chemical dependency, adult/adolescent/child clinical assessments. Knowledge of crisis theory and intervention, psychiatric diagnosis, psychotropic medications, including use and side effects and knowledge of community resources and intervention. Familiarity with insurance criteria for hospitalization. Sign-on bonus requirements: To be eligible for the sign-on bonus you must be an external candidate who is hired into an eligible full time or part time benefited position. Previous employees qualify if they have not worked for CentraCare/Carris for at least 9 months at the date of hire. Relocation assistance requirements: Must accept a position that offers benefits and may not have worked for CentraCare/Carris in the last 9 months.
