Job DescriptionThe Clinical Pharmacist -Prior Authorizations (PA) position is an exciting opportunity to use your clinical knowledge at a Fortune 4 company You'll work alongside passionate individuals in a patient-focused and supportive environment. This is a clinically challenging role that involves the entire process of PA- creating and implementing criteria and reviewing medical studies and charts. The primary function of the clinical pharmacist is to review PA requests, verify proven and/or medically necessary indications and review clinical documentation in support of prior authorization reviews. You will also provide internal pharmacist support to the PA team and member services department therefore excellent oral and written communication skills are needed. The clinical pharmacist will also perform foreign drug reviews, medical record reviews, case analysis, provide clinical support and collaboration for development of new drug policies/revisions to existing drug policies, and clinical projects. We are looking for someone with excellent organization skills who can quickly assess and adapt to constantly changing situations. Strong attention to detail is needed. The actual salary offer will take into account a wide range of factors, including location.Required Qualifications- Active AZ pharmacist license in good standing- Permanent Residence in the State of Arizona- Pharmacy knowledge, proficient in MS Office with basic computer and keyboarding skills, and excellent oral and written communication skills.- 1+ years experience in a managed care pharmacy setting, including exposure to clinical and analytical problem solving, as well as an interest in learning the PBM industryPreferred Qualifications- Knowledge of pharmacy benefit design and formulary management; Experience with pharmacy intervention programs and drug utilization review- Strong clinical and analytic background on specialty medications such as cancer medications, PAH medications, growth hormones, Hep C medications, immune globulins and pain management medicationsEducationPharmD.Business OverviewBring your heart to CVS Health Every one of us at CVS Health shares a single, clear purpose: Bringing our heart to every moment of your health.
