Job DescriptionThis will be a fully remote role with travelCVS Health is currently hiring for a dynamic leader to join the State Government Affairs team as a Lead Director, State Intergovernmental Organizations (IGOs). This role is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to advocate enterprise positions with partisan and bipartisan intergovernmental organizations to position the company for success. This role is also responsible for supporting enterprise business development which includes new business growth, as well as new opportunity development. Responsibilities include: - Develops and implements a 50-state strategy to advocate enterprise and state specific legislative and regulatory positions to support business goals and objectives with elected and appointed officials before national bipartisan and partisan organizations, to advance company initiatives. - Serves as a leader to national advocacy organizations to influence their positions, tactics, and strategies to support enterprise goals. - Represents the enterprise and its specific businesses in advocacy efforts, as appropriate to highlight company initiatives and footprint.- Develops a strategic plan that prepares and facilitates attendance of company executives, subject matter experts and other state advocacy staff at organization meetings to achieve company goals and enhance reputation across stakeholder groups.- Makes internal and external written and oral presentations on behalf of the company. - Coordinates and manages outside consultants to fulfill company objectives. Travel: This position may travel 50% of the time, including some weekends. It is expected that this leader will attend all meetings of designated intergovernmental organizations throughout the year.Pay RangeThe typical pay range for this role is:Minimum: 120,000Maximum: 265,000Please keep in mind that this range represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual salary offer will take into account a wide range of factors, including location.Required Qualifications- 10 years of legislative, regulatory, political, public affairs or industry experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. - Experience in general business, pharmacy, retail, pharmacy benefit management, insurance and/or healthcare issues.- Experience dealing with Governors, public officials and other executive staff in state government.- The ideal candidate would be located in Washington, DC, yet will consider other locations for the best fit candidate.- The ability to travel extensively (possibly 50% of the time)Preferred Qualifications- Proven, effective oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills necessary to interact with a variety of Company management, retained counsel, legislators and other elected/appointed officials, regulators, staff of trade associations and other key stakeholders.- Experience developing and managing strategic advocacy activities that achieve desired outcomes.- Mastery of Microsoft Office products, most notably Teams, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.- Ability to handle several complex and difficult projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.- Experience relating to healthcare policy and business. - Self-starter with the ability to act independently, demonstrates initiative, creative and resourceful.EducationBachelor's degree required in related field.
