Job DescriptionManager, FP&A will help in achieving the financial and strategic goals of the California Market by providing decision support and financial analysis to optimize market results. Manage processes that control and monitor key business performance metrics (membership, revenue, yield/trends, etc.) Evaluate and analyze financial results relative to Budgets and Forecasts; knowledge of rate-volume analysis, membership, income statements, and other ad hoc analysis Assist team in analyzing and researching solutions to improve business results Technical expertise in financial systems/tools (HYP, Excel, Vlookup, indexing, database) Partner and collaborate with other financial disciplines (actuarial, underwriting, MEU, network, etc.) to complete projects and analytical objectivesManagerMembership Work with business partners (Market, Underwriting, Actuary) to provide current year and multi-year outlook under guidance of Sr Manager Owner of membership LE (latest estimate) and tracking; includes case specific tracking log for sales, terminations, and other significant membership changes Coordinate Transfers: CFO, Segment, Funding Participate in Best Estimate process under guidance of Sr ManagerBudgeting/Forecasting Membership (MRFM), Fee Model and other ad-hoc tools/reports to support Budget/Forecast processo MRFM input & reviewo Fee Model - support to Sr Managero Ad Hoc reports (i.e. AWH) - inputo Transfers - collect data and input into tools Premium & Fee Credits - input into forecasting tools; track forecast to forecast Review & validate membership, gross profit, and DOS reports - shared responsibility with Sr ManagerFinancial Close Analyze/monitor/modify monthly membership LE rollforward results and communicate to Sr manager and core finance Analyze/monitor monthly revenue results and recommend adjustments to Sr Manager and core finance Working with Sr Manager, identify/analyze drivers and present financial results relative to Budget, Forecast, History to business leaders and partners; drill into results outside expectations Monitor Premium Credit usage (at case level) and communicate to Sr Manager; work with underwriting to understand case level usage as well as future expectations Using standard reporting (HCIC, Actuary), analyze large claim activity and if needed, work with Sr Manager on drill downs Reporting Functions/Support Work with Sr Manager to analyze monthly Financial and DOS results (Hyperion/Flag) and highlight drivers Support Business Partners with financial and ad hoc reporting under guidance of Sr Manager Analyze monthly A/R results and work with billing unit to understand drivers and action plansPay RangeThe typical pay range for this role is:Minimum: 60,300Maximum: 126,600Please keep in mind that this range represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.
