Job DescriptionThe Release Train Engineer (RTE) is a leader on the Agile Release Train (ART), a team of teams (50-125 people) that plan, commit, develop and deploy software together to deliver significant value to CVS's end customers. This is an instrumental leadership role in the oversight and execution of CVS initiatives that generates multimillion-dollar business value to the organization and touches millions of consumers every year, partnering closely with leaders from other disciplines (Product, Engineering, QA, Architecture, Design/UX) and across the organization to provide quarterly guidance and day-to-day direction. RTEs are accountable for relentless train improvement and for ensuring transparency about the ART's delivery, risks and accomplishments. The RTE drives train processes and ensure teams have everything they need to be successful to build the product and help coach the ART in Scrum, Kanban and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).Pay RangeThe typical pay range for this role is:Minimum: 115,000Maximum: 230,000Please keep in mind that this range represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual salary offer will take into account a wide range of factors, including location.Required Qualificationst7+ years working with Lean- Agile methodologiestMinimum 2 years' direct experience as an RTE tAbility to travel for quarterly onsite PI Planning (NYC) when requiredPreferred QualificationstAdvanced understanding of lean-agile principles/mindset and SAFe principles/core valuestStrong technical aptitude and experience leading teams in delivering quality softwaretExcellent communication (written, oral, presentations), holistic view and systems thinkertAble to lead without "Command and Control" style (servant leadership), empathetictProactive, problem-solving approach - someone who offers solutions not problems for others to solve. Comfortable jumping in as needed to support the TraintEffective communicator with strong interpersonal skills/collaborative style and the ability to establish strong working relationships and influence peers and stakeholderstDemonstrated ability to facilitate large planning and solutioning sessionstUnderstanding of Agile at scale philosophies & methodologies.
