Job DescriptionThe Region Director, FS is a dynamic and inspirational leader who plays a critical role in creating a culture of customer care and business excellence in retail stores across their market with business oversight of up to 250 front store retail stores and an average span of control of 10 direct reports and over 1,500 colleagues. The Region Director, FS has ultimate responsibility for customer satisfaction and business success in their market. An inspiring coach and leader of people, the Region Director, FS is focused on building and developing a team of District Leaders who grow the business in their markets through their consistent delivery of our Purpose by leading with heart. Specifically, the Region Director, FS partners with and coaches their District Leaders to inspire their teams to deliver on the core business with excellence, embrace change in an evolving omnichannel ecosystem, and launch new products, programs, and services to keep our communities healthy and engaged with our brand. The Region Director, FS brings deep, firsthand knowledge of retail operations to help their teams grow top-line sales, identify, and address performance opportunities, and comply with all Company policies and requirements. A model for all CVS store colleagues, the Region Director, FS also lives our Heart at Work behaviors, and sets the bar in their market by their consistent examples.To enable sustainable market success, the Region Director, FS is specifically responsible to:Cultivate and maintain a healthy Region talent pipeline, including overseeing the development of Region Director, FS Emerging Leaders and ensuring career progression for emerging talent to maintain a strong District Leader bench and, within their Districts, a robust Store Manager and Pharmacy Manager succession strategySet and communicate Region priorities in an engaging and inclusive manner, based on Corporate and Divisional direction; ensure District Leaders and Region support partners understand the "why" behind new services, initiatives and goals and are able to engage their teams to embrace and lead through changeConduct regular formal and informal check-ins with all District Leaders to track progress against business and developmental goals while building a strong relationship and inspiring trustImprove Region-level store performance measures (e.g., sales, service, inventory management, etc.) by coaching District Leaders to identify and address root-cause barriers to success and refine mindsets and behaviors with their team Oversee community responsibility and oversee compliance with all relevant requirements on a state and Region levelGrow the front store business by instilling a growth mindset in leaders to embrace new formats, merchandise with excellence, and cultivate customer loyalty Partner across business lines to foster a true one team mindset through exporting and importing talent as appropriate to drive our total Company and business strategies forwardConnects greater Region support network to the strategy and vision to drive positive outcomes and mitigate risk - including HR, Asset protection, Safety and others as needed Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities:People Leadership & Development:Cultivate the Region talent pipeline, including oversight and development of District Leaders and RD Emerging Leaders, FSManage succession plans and promote Region and District-level staffing to meet overall colleague and business needsOversee relationship with Region training leaders to ensure the consistent delivery and completion of all colleague training programsOversee District Leaders to ensure appropriate staffing and scheduling of colleagues to meet customer demand and improve colleague engagementCreate a culture of recognition, empowerment, development, and inclusion that attracts and retains talent at all levelsIdentify, mentor, and develop future District and Region Leadership talentDeliver timely performance reviews and targeted and purposeful coaching and counseling for individual District Leaders as neededBusiness / Financial Planning:Develop and execute business plans and strategies to deliver on all business performance measures, e.g. P&L, sales-to-budget, inventory management, payroll management, asset protection accountabilities, etc.Actively review business reports to derive insights about Region and District performance; utilize metrics as a tool to diagnose root cause and inform the creation of both short and long-term strategiesDevelop a deep understanding of the competitive landscape and business trends, using this information to proactively plan for risk and capitalize on opportunitiesOperate with strong business acumen and have accountability for the overall P&L for the retail stores within the Region. Operations:Set and communicate market goals in an engaging and inclusive mannerSet and execute through District Leaders our merchandising strategy including, but not limited to, seasonal planning, etc.Engage District Leaders to deliver against new and existing programs and services with excellence through their teamsChampion differentiated customer service at all levels, model behaviors that exhibit thisEnsure District Leaders are equipped to drive compliance with community responsibility activities and with all required Company policies and obligations Portfolio Growth:Lead teams to drive value for the brand through flawless execution of programs that impact more than one District (CarePass, etc.)Provide market-specific input to development and execution of omnichannel strategy; oversee implementation of omnichannel programs (ship from store, etc.) effectively to drive customer engagement and loyaltyPrepare DLs to launch new store formats with excellence to build and evolve the brandImplement strategies that will enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the retail store operations to include colleague engagement, customer service, safety, community responsibility, inventory controls, asset protection, P&L performance, vendor relationships, and real estate.Pay RangeThe typical pay range for this role is:Minimum: 131,500Maximum: 297,250Please keep in mind that this range represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual salary offer will take into account a wide range of factors, including location.Required Qualifications5+ years of experience leading others in a highly competitive retail multi-unit settingConsistent record of building successful teams and developing key talentDemonstrated ability to lead a large organization and manage multi-million-dollar business unit to achieve business results Demonstrated ability to understand and break down highly complex situations to deliver impactful solutions in real time. Track record of actively taking on issues in a decisive manner, while keeping broader organizational dynamics in mind and empowering your leaders to obtain results through building behaviors.
