Job DescriptionValue Pool Enablement is a new way to identify, manage, and execute capital investment portfolios to help HCB achieve its strategy. Multiple Value Pools have been established as drivers of the HCB strategy. This program utilizes a multi-year portfolio management view, balancing investments with near-term return and long-term outcomes, and measuring and tracking value for the current year and beyond.We are looking for a leader to help drive the transformation of how HCB manages its investment portfolio through a Value Pool Framework and defines and tracks value. This is a highly visible role, which will require close collaboration with senior leadership across the enterprise, with results utilized by senior leadership to manage the HCB investment portfolio to execute of the HCB key strategic themes. The Financial & Strategic Alignment Lead Director will play a key role in the maturing the Value Pool Enablement program, which is designed to: Support a $300M+ portfolio of strategic initiatives over the next 3 years Support delivering over $1B of value over the next 5 years, contributing towards the success of achieving the HCB growth targets Work with accountable HCB business leaders, finance teams, transformation leaders and leaders across the broader CVSH enterprise (to ensure value alignment and support. Drive value identification and planning across all HCB lines of business, including Commercial, Specialty, Medicare, Medicaid, and applicable functions. Work closely with the finance and strategy teams to establish new processes and ways of working. This includes cultural changes that are needed across HCB as a critical success factor.Specifically, this individual will lead a program and manage a small team responsible to work across the enterprise, HCB and Value Pool Leadership to: Manage an integrated process to define, manage, and track value (costs, financial benefits, and non-financial outcomes (e.g., experience, talent, technology, enterprise leverage)) with accountability for SG&A, Revenue and Med Cost reductions Manage ongoing process to collect data required for value realization, including identifying cost centers aligned to value pools and value streams Provide ongoing monitoring against original and holistic transformational Value Pool plan and identify where value gaps occur Continually refine value pools and associated value streams and align 'Enable Enterprise' value pools with HCB and enterprise talent, tech, and finance Drive the annual Strategic Refresh with Value Pool Captains/Delivery Leads to Refine the Vision, Value Streams, Initiatives, scope and value assumptions, and identify new value pools and streamso Identifies addressable value opportunity and allows us to assess our progress towards value realizationo Supports capital deployment toward the most strategic value generating opportunitieso Describes the transformative, cross functional business capabilities needed to execute HCB strategy and align Pools to HCB Destination Markerso Help align Value Drivers to realize the Business Objective and identify KPIs to measure the impact of the Value Driver and estimate the value Provide senior leadership with the transparency needed to allocate funds toward the most successful growth initiatives, and provide an approach to prioritize funding across the Value Pools, business units, etc. Deploy a new approach for HCB to integrate into strategic, capital and operating planningo Integrate with strategic planning and define approach for cascading strategic priorities and goals to value pools and streams, and progress towards destination markers and key business capability delivery.o Utilize standard financial assumption approach, with finance, for SG&A, MedEx, and Revenue to integrate with capital planning. o Integrate Value Pool and Stream level business Case and Roadmaps into HCB's budgeting and forecasting process to ensure value capture in Operating Plans. Partner closely with Portfolio Operations to conduct Risks/Opportunities identification, business case and roadmaps, integrate value plan roadmap, financial rebalancing Responsible for maintaining enterprise-wide relationships and understanding how value streams and projects intersect other areas of the enterprise. Key business partners including, but not limited to, the A&BC Team, Medical Economics Unit, Capital Planning, Finance, Enterprise councils to understand major capabilities and cost drivers Partner with Strategy to cascade strategic priorities and destination markers to Value Pool Portfolio Framework and define targets Hold regular meetings with Strategy to show progress toward strategic targets and destination markers Responsible for holding regular meetings with A&BC to assess capacity and initiative measurement validity for Benefit Modeling Document progress towards key business capability delivery, and manage and risks and opportunities to achieving Responsible for the enterprise wide and/or cross-functional value tracking and capture program resulting in transparency allowing prioritization of initiatives to significantly impact company this highly visible leadership role, you will have the opportunity to partner with leaders throughout the organization to optimize the achievement of strategic business objectives. The actual salary offer will take into account a wide range of factors, including location.Required Qualifications 10 years of work experience required (graduate level education may substitute) Extensive experience in reporting financial results. Provide recommendations on how organization can support strategic initiatives. Experience with program management of enterprise cross-functional initiatives, with a high degree of complexity.Preferred Qualifications 10 to 15 years of related experience and technical/functional expertise in several of the following areas: management consulting; healthcare system management; health plan management; financial analysis, project management, operations management, marketing and communications. Ability to collaborate with and understand the needs of C-level executives and help translate those needs to an actionable plan. Multiple years proven leadership experience setting strategic direction and influencing change that resulted in quantifiable positive outcomes.Education BS in Finance, Accounting or Business or equivalent work experience.
