Job DescriptionThe Manufacturer Intelligence Manager is responsible for supporting strategic interactions with pharmaceutical partners as a part of the Trade Strategy team. The Trade Strategy team is responsible for both forward-looking innovation and daily strategic operations of the Trade BU, which the Manager, Manufacturer Intelligence supports, with strategic management of manufacturer knowledge to drive value for manufacturer negotiations and other enterprise interactions.The specific role of the Manufacturer Intelligence Manager is to develop and manage data and insights about our pharmaceutical manufacturer partners and CVS's relationships with them. The Manager, Manufacturer Intelligence will develop and implement a standardized, repeatable process for regularly gathering, updating, and accessing manufacturer intelligence. They will accomplish this by leveraging internal and external sources and collaborating with leaders across Trade. In addition to supporting regular negotiations and interactions, they will develop expertise on manufacturers by readily responding to priority out-of-cycle requests for manufacturer information. They will be responsible for providing strategic intelligence related to new ventures with manufacturers. They will also be responsible for oversight on Trade Strategy capital and ensuring appropriate utilization of IT capital and operational expenses by liaising with Finance, Project management, and Procurement. Lastly and most importantly, the Manager, Manufacturer Intelligence will be owning deliverables for executive leadership which will require keen attention to detail and strategic thinking - think PowerPoint presentations for VPs and above. Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities:Responsibilities (Note: reflecting needs of the position, responsibilities have been sorted by sequence, not % of time) % Time1. Strategic partnership: Collaborate cross-functionally and across Trade using information sources both external (e.g., pipeline and clinical trials updates, earnings insights, etc.) and internal on new venture opportunities 10%2. Develop and manage process to update manufacturer intelligence: Improve and maintain repeatable solution for providing manufacturer intelligence to the organization, prioritizing automated, self-serve approach. Monitor triggers (e.g., quarterly earnings, completion of negotiation cycles) for information updates and own end-to-end responsibility for each kind of update. Per process, gather information from internal and external sources to update manufacturer knowledge. Conduct secondary research (e.g., earnings calls) on manufacturers. Ensure cross-functional partners contribute information as aligned 50%3. Expertise and information sharing: Provide regular support for negotiations and other interactions. Draw insights and develop expertise on the most important manufacturers; act as a strategic thought partner to teams as they engage manufacturers 10%4. Respond to out-of-cycle requests: Respond to ad hoc leadership requests about manufacturers. Support Trade Strategic Planning and Communications partners with all needed manufacturer expertise10%5. Capital management: Provide oversight on Trade Strategy Capital and Operational expenses to ensure proper utilization. Liaise with Finance, Project management, and Procurement. 20%Pay RangeThe typical pay range for this role is:Minimum: 60,300Maximum: 130,000Please keep in mind that this range represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual salary offer will take into account a wide range of factors, including location.Required Qualifications 2+ years of experience in healthcare which may include PBM, Pharma, market access, account management, specialty pharmacy, or health plan experience. Demonstrated customer orientation and an ability to bring together cross-functional partners to respond to customer needs Demonstrated success communicating complex issues and relaying information in an effective manner to senior leadership Demonstrated success utilizing written and verbal communications skills to conduct presentations on a consistent basis Intermediate to Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and PowerPoint, is needed.Preferred Qualifications 5+ years of experience in healthcare which may include PBM, Pharma, market access, account management, specialty pharmacy, or health plan experience.
