Job DescriptionThe Assistant Field Merchant will drive execution of market specific initiatives within an assigned geographic territory covering roughly 2,000 CVS locations. The position will work remotely from a Regional Business office and report to the Field Merchandising Manager. The AFM will partner with the FMM to execute established plans within the consumable and General merchandise categories with an emphasis on fresh and refrigerated including Dairy, Frozen, Fresh Food, Beverage, Snack and Flowers. Additionally, will focus on Local needs including Urban, College, Tourist, beach and Multi-cultural. The position is also responsible for performing root cause analysis, problem resolution, category research and identifying potential business opportunities. The AFM will collaborate and manage communication with local supplier partners and CVS field teams (DL, RD) to drive compliance to established merchandising standards and service.Pay RangeThe typical pay range for this role is:Minimum: 60,300Maximum: 130,000Please keep in mind that this range represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual salary offer will take into account a wide range of factors, including location.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in business, Management, Economics, Marketing, or FinanceThree to Five years' experience in/CPG Merchandising or Marketing within retail spaceMust have multi-unit management experience Ability to travel as necessary is required - Up to 40%.The ideal candidate will live within the DC market, Virginia, Chicago or DetroitPreferred QualificationsLocal- In Market Execution - Travel 40% required Execute region specific plans in critical markets related to product, promotion, seasonal, and off shelf programming.o Partner with Category Managers to ensure that the strategic goals of the categories are supported by all marketing and merchandising programs.o Develop unique merchandising programs that support corporate strategies and goals while also serving the unique needs of their geographic territories.o Identify, evaluate, and implement new businesses, categories, and items related to specific territories when strategically appropriate o Supports Execution and communication of All DSD with all store Project Activity (New, Remodels and New Markets)Lead and Maintain Distributor Continuity and Performance o Negotiate and manage local vendor relationships with territory specific suppliers.o Build and maintain consistency of our DSD supply channel partners through strong regional partnerships and distributor sourcing and supply chain.Streamline and Elevate Communications and Partnerships o Communicate and execute category merchant strategic plans in partnership with Field Operations (RD, DL and Store manager) o Maintain positive trade relations with DSD distributor partners and while ensuring adherence to service standards for DSD businesseso Conducts training of District Leaders and Store teams on DSD programs and priorities to drive sales.
