Network Engineer 2Job Location-Annapolis Junction, MDOverview:Varada Consulting, LLC is seeking a full-time, highly skilled, and experienced Network Engineer to support critical mission operations and network optimization efforts. In this role, you will design, implement, configure, and maintain advanced network solutions to support system architecture and ensure resilient, mission-critical environments. You will work closely with engineering teams to enhance network performance, minimize latency, and optimize dataflows while supporting the implementation of scalable WAN and LAN architectures. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Cisco IOS or JunOS, Ethernet trunking, NAT configuration, and troubleshooting network performance issues. An active DoD IAT Level II certification and Cisco certification are required. Experience supporting IC or SIGINT activities and familiarity with RMF security requirements are highly desirable.Job Duties:Implement specific network solutions to support server requirements to include load balancing, VPN's, firewall contexts, and network address translation (NAT) where appropriateMinimize network latency and maximize data throughput through design analysis and network performance monitoring toolsOptimize end to end system performance and dataflow managementCoordinate with the system engineering and dataflow efforts to ensure proper mission operations to minimize downtimeDesign solutions, integrate, configure, deploy, test and provide ongoing maintenance for numerous types of network devices, interfaces and methodologiesConfigure and optimize the network to connect various front-end and back-end components.Facilitate the implementation of high speed, scalable, fault-to-tolerant network topologies as applicable to WAN and LAN designProvide assistance in all aspects of network management, from network design through implementation, maintenance, and upgrading of existing networks.Analyzes design, specification, and related documents and implements communication system requirements to support the distributed functionality of a software engineering environmentAnalyzes network characteristics (traffic connect time, transmission speeds, packet sizes, and throughput), troubleshoots problems, and recommends procurement of and/or modifications to network components.Required Qualifications:BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Communications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics or Information Systems required8 years experience as a Network Engineer in programs that encompass system architecture, requirements analysis, process execution, and evaluation.3 years of direct experience with IC or SIGINT activityExperience with Cisco IOS or JunOSExperience in developing networks from design through implementationExperience with Ethernet Trunking and configuring Ethernet VLANsExperience in configuring multi-vendor network equipment; Experience with network test gear and testing network equipment; Experience in configuring NAT and Routing Protocols.Ability to demonstrate cyber/IT related experience with attention to detail, customer service, oral and written communication, and problem-solving.Active DoD IAT Level II certificationActive Cisco certificationDesired:Understanding of project design within the scope of security (RMF) requirementsClearance Requirements:An Active Top Secret clearance/SCI with PolygraphJoin an Award-Winning Team!
