This role is pivotal in driving a consumer-centric culture through Category, Merchandising, and Pricing (CMP) responsibilities. The Category Manager will manage performance for assigned categories and develop and execute customer-focused category plans. What we ask of you: Category Management & Strategy: Develop and execute comprehensive category plans that are customer focused Drive a consumer-centric culture through strategic Category, Merchandising, and Pricing (CMP) initiatives Analyze market trends and consumer insights to inform category strategy and innovation Performance Management: Monitor and manage performance metrics for assigned categories Utilize data-driven insights to drive category growth and profitability Implement strategies to improve category performance and achieve financial targets Pricing & Assortment: Oversee pricing strategies to ensure competitiveness and profitability Manage product assortment and selection to meet customer needs and preferences Identify opportunities for product innovation and differentiation Vendor Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, brokers, and third-party consultants Negotiate terms and agreements to secure favorable outcomes for the company Collaborate with vendors to drive category growth and innovation Talent Planning & Team Development: Lead and develop a high-performing team Conduct talent planning, performance management, and succession planning Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture Thought Leadership: Stay informed/up to date of industry trends, best practices, and competitive landscape Provide thought leadership and category expertise to drive innovation Share insights and knowledge with internal stakeholders What you bring to the table: 5-8 years of Category Management experience Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required Master of Business Administration (MBA) preferred Extensive knowledge of applicable practice areas, such as Fresh or Center Store categories Proven negotiation experience and relationship management with vendors, brokers, and third-party consultants Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to thrive in a hybrid work environment and manage travel requirements (8-12%) What we bring to the table: Culture committed to celebrating diverse backgrounds and experiences Comprehensive benefits Opportunities for professional development and career growth Associate discounts Team of associates dedicated to serving our local customers and supporting our communities Flexible, hybrid work environment with three days a week at our Quincy Corporate office and the remaining days working remotely If you are passionate about customer service, thrive in a dynamic environment, and are committed to making a difference, we invite you to apply.
