This role involves leading a team of network engineers, managing advanced networking technologies such as Wi-Fi, BGP, global WAN, SD-WAN, and cloud connectivity (Azure/AWS), and ensuring robust, secure, and high-performing network services across multiple geographic locations. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise in routing protocols, traffic prioritization (QoS), and on-premises-to-cloud connectivity, along with proven leadership skills to manage distributed teams. The Manager of Network Engineering will drive network innovation, optimize performance, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business-critical applications and services. Key Responsibilities: Design and manage connectivity between on-premises and public cloud environments. Set up and maintain cloud networking in Azure and AWS, including VPCs, VPNs, and Direct Connect/ExpressRoute. Ensure seamless integration of cloud services with enterprise infrastructure. Network Design & Management: Oversee global WAN operations to ensure high availability, scalability, and performance. Deploy and optimize SD-WAN solutions for network agility and cost-efficiency. Manage the design, implementation, and maintenance of networks using BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP. Manage a distributed team of network engineers, fostering collaboration and accountability. Coordinate resource allocation and project assignments. Provide mentorship, conduct performance reviews, and develop career growth plans. Traffic Management: Implement and refine QoS policies for traffic prioritization to optimize performance for critical applications. Monitor and troubleshoot network latency, packet loss, and bandwidth utilization. Operational Excellence: Ensure network uptime, security, and compliance with industry standards. Establish monitoring tools, high availability configurations, and disaster recovery plans. Maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, policies, and procedures. Strategic Planning: Develop and execute a network engineering roadmap aligned with business objectives. Evaluate and recommend emerging network technologies. Partner with IT leadership, application teams, and external vendors to align network capabilities with organizational needs. Act as the escalation point for complex network issues and outages. Project Management: Lead network-related projects, ensuring timely and budget-compliant delivery. Leadership and team-building skills, with experience managing remote or distributed teams. Network security tools (e.g., firewalls, IDS/IPS) and protocols (e.g., IPsec, SSL). Automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Python) for network configuration and management. Managing vendor relationships with ISPs, hardware providers, or cloud service providers. Project management experience with a focus on delivering complex initiatives. Routing and switching technologies (e.g., Arista, Brocade, Cisco). Zero-trust security models and network segmentation. Network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Wireshark, Scrutinizer). Compliance frameworks (e.g., PCI-DSS, SOC 2) related to network infrastructure. QoS configuration and traffic engineering for enterprise networks. Communication skills, capable of translating technical details for diverse audiences. Problem-solving and analytical abilities. Qualifications: Extensive experience with advanced routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF, EIGRP) and Wi-Fi network design. Proven success managing network teams across multiple locations. Expertise in global WAN environments and SD-WAN deployments. Minimum of 7 years in network engineering, with 4-6 years in leadership roles. Preferred certifications (e.g., CCNP, CCIE, AWS Certified Advanced Networking, Azure Network Engineer Associate). Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). Hands-on experience with on-premises-to-cloud connectivity and cloud networking in Azure/AWS. Compensation and Benefits: Bonuses based on individual contributions and firm profitability. Salary range: starting at $133,400 annually, based on experience.
