EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT COORDINATORThis position involves responsibility for coordinating activities relating to all phases of County-wide emergency management and preparedness programs, including but not limited to: mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery. This work is performed under the general supervision of the Director of the Office of Emergency Management in accordance with State and Federal regulations and guidelines, with leeway for independently performing most of the duties in the position. Supervision is exercised over subordinate staff engaged in emergency services. Performs related work as required.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Either:(A) Graduation from a regionally accredited college or university or one accredited by the New York State Board of Regents to grant degrees with a Bachelors Degree in Emergency Management or similar field; or(B) Graduation from a regionally accredited college or university or one accredited by the New York State Board of Regents to grant degrees with an Associates Degree in Emergency Management or similar field, with two (2) years of experience in emergency management, to include Homeland Security, or disaster management, or Homeland Security preparedness and operations.SPECIAL NOTE:Candidates must possess an appropriate New York State license to operate a motor vehicle.SALARY:Entry: $76,880.00Full: $92,372.00This is a competitive class position subject to Civil Service Examination.Applications will be accepted until position is filled.EEO/AA EmployerM/F/D/V
