The Clinical Residential Director provides strategic clinical oversight and leadership across all residential programs to ensure high-quality, person-centered care for individuals with disabilities and co-occurring behavioral or mental health needs. This role supports both staff and service recipients through evidence-based interventions, training, compliance monitoring, and hands-on problem-solving. Active and unrestricted Minnesota license:LADC ,LICSW , orBCBA . Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in residential, clinical, or behavioral health settings. Must meet245D Designated Manager qualifications , including: At least 3 years of supervisory experience in programs supporting individuals with disabilities or older adults. Education and experience consistent with Minnesota 245D DM requirements. Strong knowledge ofMN DHS ,Department of Health , andHCBS regulations .Key Responsibilities Clinical Oversight Lead development, implementation, and monitoring of person-centered support plans, behavior support plans, and risk mitigation strategies. Oversee clinical care across residential sites, including assessment, service adaptation, and documentation. Serve as the lead clinical consultant to Designated Coordinators, Managers, and Behavior Technicians in addressing complex client needs. Monitor client progress and staff fidelity to clinical protocols; intervene with corrective support where necessary. Programmatic Excellence & Client Service Delivery Support staff in using data-driven practices to inform daily interventions and goal tracking. Develop and deliver clinical interventions that improve quality of life and reduce restrictive procedures. Assist teams in navigating mental health crises, substance use behaviors, and maladaptive patterns with trauma-informed strategies. Provide on-site clinical presence for high-needs clients or escalated issues, ensuring stability and continuity of care. Staff Support, Supervision, and Coaching Provide ongoing clinical coaching to Designated Managers, Coordinators, and direct care staff. Lead reflective supervision sessions and debriefings following critical incidents. Ensure staff competency and comfort in implementing therapeutic strategies and behavioral supports. Identify training needs and collaborate with the Training Department on development and delivery of skill-based learning. Compliance & Quality Assurance Ensure all documentation (support plans, progress notes, critical incident reports) meets 245D, licensing, and professional standards. Conduct internal audits and support remediation plans when gaps are identified. Lead or participate in licensing reviews, attestations, and compliance monitoring. Collaborate with Quality Assurance to support continuous improvement and service integrity.Skills & Competencies Deep understanding of trauma-informed care, harm reduction, and dual diagnosis support. High emotional intelligence and strong interpersonal communication skills. Crisis prevention and intervention expertise, including de-escalation and safety planning. Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and guide others with compassion and accountability. Effective problem-solving, decision-making, and documentation practices.Preferred Qualifications Experience in residential crisis stabilization, SUD treatment, or intensive behavioral health settings. Familiarity with Electronic Health Records and data reporting systems. Certification in CPI, Handle With Care, PMAB, or similar intervention models. Knowledge of the Traction (EOS) model and organizational scorecard tools.Working Conditions Frequent travel to program sites within the Twin Cities metro area. Occasional on-call responsibilities and crisis response needs outside business hours. Combination of office-based and on-site duties in homes and community-based settings.
