That's why Gateway Aluminum welcomes individuals from all backgrounds who are looking for a supportive, high-performing workplace.Position Overview:We are currently hiring Industrial Maintenance Mechanics to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair a variety of heavy industrial equipment in an aluminum casting and rolling manufacturing environment.We Offer Competitive Compensation and Benefits: Health, Vision, and Dental Insurance Life Insurance Flexible Spending Account (FSA) Paid Time Off (PTO) Paid Holidays 401(k) and Roth 401(k) Disability Benefits Company-Provided PPE Annual Tool Allowance 12-Hour Shifts with the potential for every other weekend off Shift Premium Weekly Pay Starting Wage: $30/hour Responsibilities: Promote safety, environmental responsibility, and continuous quality improvement in alignment with company policies Follow all Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) and Standard Work Instructions Maintain a safe, clean work environment Read and interpret basic mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic prints for troubleshooting Create job orders for repairs, new equipment installations, and preventive maintenance Repair and maintain pneumatic, hydraulic, and gas piping systems Perform hot work and rigging Execute preventive maintenance on production equipment Work safely at heights Operate a variety of tools, measuring devices, and test equipment Follow instructions and respond to management direction Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner Communicate effectively and collaborate with team members Suggest improvements for quality, production, and safety Job Duties Include but Are Not Limited To: Install, maintain, and repair stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment Fit bearings, align gears and shafts, attach motors, and connect couplings/belts to precise tolerances Service and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems Perform tack welding and fabrication Operate rigging equipment to move heavy machinery and parts Read diagrams and schematic drawings Diagnose, repair, and maintain industrial production machinery Replace malfunctioning components Disassemble and reassemble machinery for inspection and repair Lubricate, clean, or adjust parts and equipment Examine parts for defects or wear Test and verify machinery functionality post-repair Analyze test results or error messages to diagnose problems Record materials used and requisition new parts as needed Keep detailed records of maintenance and repairs Refer to blueprints or manuals for proper installation procedures Cut and weld metal parts Enter codes to program computer-controlled machinery Demonstrate equipment use to operators Preferred Qualifications: Strong background in industrial maintenance Experience with product and process failure analysis Skilled in troubleshooting and maintaining hydraulic/pneumatic systems Experience in fabricating and installing mechanical systems Creative problem-solving and critical thinking skills Strong written and verbal communication skills Attentive listener Hydraulic troubleshooting experience Forklift and aerial lift operation preferred Requirements:Education/Certification: High school diploma or GED Minimum 3 years of continuous experience repairing heavy industrial equipment in a manufacturing environment Physical Requirements: Must be able to climb, stand, bend, reach, and squat in a manufacturing setting Manual dexterity for fine motor tasks (grasping, pinching, turning, typing) Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Work Environment: Exposure to electrical and mechanical machinery Work in uncontrolled climates and machine environments Must be available for rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays Shifts: 7 AM-7 PM and 7 PM-7 AM (rotate every 4 weeks) Must supply your own tools Gateway Aluminum, LLC provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by law.We participate in the Drug-Free Workplace Act and conduct pre-employment, post-accident, and reasonable suspicion drug and alcohol testing.
