Part-Time Installation Technician

Overview The GBS Group, an engineering services and consulting firm, is seeking an Install Technician to support our growing technology business. The GBS Group is a commercial and government engineering services firm with a variety of contract types. This position will focus on our commercial business, specifically rail and transportation equipment, with the schedule of Monday - Friday working between the hours of 5:30am - 3pm. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: * Disassembling and reassembling Rail and Wheeled vehicles parts and interior panels * Properly mounting and securing components to vehicles Routing wires and cabling into vehicles * Splicing wires and/or soldering connections to equipment and components * Terminating connections on WiFi components, radios, LED lights, sirens, electrical components * Troubleshooting, diagnosing and/or replacing electrical components * Documenting all work completed on work orders accurately * Maintaining a clean, organized and safe working area Qualifications Candidates must possess the following professional experience and qualifications: * Minimum of 3 years with telecommunications, WiFi or radio installations/testing * Must have a working knowledge of automobile/rail electronics and proficiency using basic hand and power tools. * Must be flexible enough for periodic travel and stay overnight when required * Must be able to pass security clearance check as some access to secure locations may be necessary * Must be able to lift packages weighing up to 70 lbs. * Must be able to pass a criminal background check, drug test and have a clean driver's record. Desired Characteristics: * Has work experience as an Electrical Technician doing installation and troubleshooting. * At least 2 years of experience installing WiFi or networking equipment onboard rail cars, public safety vehicles or buildings * OSHA 30 certification * WMATA Blue Flag and RWP training EEO Statement The GBS Group is an equal-opportunity employer.
