Field Tech Job Status: UNTIL FILLED Posting Date: 02/06/2025 Posting Number: 012608 Location: Facilities Position Title: Field Tech Wage/Hour Status: Non-Exempt Reports To: Athletic Grounds Supervisor Primary Purpose: To maintain all campus athletic fields in a manner as to project a neat, well-manicured safe playing surface. Qualifications: Education/Certification: High School Diploma or GED Special Knowledge/Skills: * Demonstrate ability to work with lawn and field maintenance * Have a strong background and experience in Athletic Field maintenance * A strong knowledge in equipment maintenance and irrigation systems * Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the administration may find appropriate Experience: Major Responsibilities and Duties: * Maintains all athletic fields in a manicured manner. * Maintains the proper chemical and nutrient balance of all athletic fields * Edges all of the areas around the various athletic fields. * Inspect and repair the sprinkler systems on all athletic fields * Operates all types of grounds maintenance equipment * Maintains and prepares all artificial turf fields * Lines all baseball, football, and soccer fields during the season * Prepares all competition fields for the various competitive events * Applies fertilizer and pesticides as needed * Maintains the equipment in a safe operable manner. * Complete the necessary renovation work, reseeding, and over-seeding on all fields. * Maintains all records as directed. * Wear provided safety equipment issued by Allen Independent School District. * Performs other duties as the Superintendent may assign Supervisory Responsibilities: None. Customer Care Skills: * Provide professional communication with students, parents, community members, staff and other professionals at all times. * Use proper phone etiquette at all times, speaking slowly and clearly. Take reliable messages, and route to appropriate staff. * Ensure superior customer care skills are used via eye contact, facial expressions, voice inflections, body language, and an attitude of "going the extra mile" for others. * Ensure all requests for information are dealt with in an appropriate timeframe. * Create and maintain a welcoming, service-oriented environment toward all internal and external customers. Mental Demands/Physical Demands: Tools/Equipment Used: Operates light truck (less than 26,000 lb.); hand tools, mowers, edges, sweepers, string trimmers, aerator, verticutter, sod cutter, tractor with front end loader, fertilizer applicator, pesticide applicator, top dresser, and any other necessary tools or equipment need to maintain a quality athletic field system. Posture: frequent standing, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting Motion: Repetitive motion, sitting, standing, reaching, digging, and lifting Lifting: frequent light lifting (below 15 lbs), occasional heavy lifting (over 50 lbs) Environment: May work prolonged or irregular hours; frequent districtwide travel Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions, maintain emotional control under stress. Salary: Pay Grade OS02 $15.37 - $18.21 hourly rate commensurate with experience according to District salary schedule. Days: 261
