Job Description

The City of South Lake Tahoe is hiring for 2025-26 Seasonal Snowplow Operators - MT V, Step 5 level. This is an exceptional opportunity to earn a high hourly salary, plus overtime. There are multiple openings for snowplow operators with a Commercial Driver License (CDL), Class A or B. Employment will begin October 27, 2025, to March 31, 2026 (tentative).  CDL operators will earn $39.77 per hour, plus overtime pay for work over 40 hours per week ($59.65 per hour) and twice the hourly rate ($79.55) for work during holidays. In addition, for any On-Call Duty (to be ready to report to work), the employee can earn $13.22 per hour. A Commercial Diver's License (CDL) is required for this position.  The conditions herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Environment: Work is performed primarily in a standard office environment; incumbents may be required to work extended hours including evenings and weekends. Incumbents may also be called in for local emergencies at irregular hours. Physical: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; and to verbally communicate to exchange information. Vision: See in the normal visual range with or without correction. Hearing: Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
