This apartment community has 549 units and is located in downtown Detroit, MI. The Lead Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the property in a safe, attractive and comfortable condition. This individual will maintain relationships with other service staff, residents and vendors. Some key responsibilities will include providing the highest level of customer service, make regular inspections of grounds and buildings as part of a preventative maintenance plan, complete service requests and assist with the apartment make-ready process. The Lead Maintenance Technician reports directly to the Maintenance Supervisor. Responsibilities will include but not limited to: * Prepare vacant apartment homes. * Complete property work orders while providing efficient, friendly service. * Follow preventive maintenance guidelines. * Maintain the physical asset. * Use different skillsets: such as, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, etc. * Teamwork to achieve property goals. * Accept on-call responsibilities (rotated schedule). * Follow safety procedures. Qualifications * Hard worker * Valid Driver's License with auto insurance * Excellent customer service skills with a strong leadership background * Must have experience with apartment turns and leading a team * Maintenance Supervisor experience at a small multi-family property is ideal * Have conflict resolution skills, strong organization skills and be comfortable working in a fast paced environment * High School diploma or equivalent * Facilities maintenance experience is a plus * Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening * Must be available after hours and weekends for on-call responsibilities (rotated schedule) Physical Demands: * Physical demands described here must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential duties of this job.
