If Temporary, enter End Date: Position Summary This is a full-time motor vehicle operator (moving crew) position, scheduled Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with Saturdays and Sundays as regular days off. The role is based in the Service Group building within the Transportation Department. Experience Cortland dives deep into the region's offerings Major Responsibilities * Operate campus moving vans/trucks with power tailgate. * Perform a variety of routine manual tasks requiring medium to heavy physical effort. * Collaborate with another motor vehicle operator to move a variety of items, from heavy office furniture like file cabinets and desks to lighter items such as boxes. * Process furniture move requests, equipment move request, shred bin requests, room function setups and teardowns, relocation of official campus records, etc. * Assist with light building maintenance tasks such as dismantling modular furniture as part of removal and delivery as needed. * Work in other Facilities Operations and Services (FOS) areas as needed. * This position works in all kinds of weather conditions indoors and outdoors. Functional and Supervisory Relationships Required Qualifications Candidates must possess a New York State Driver's License appropriate for the type of vehicle to be operated. Preferred Qualifications * Ability to perform a variety of routine manual labor tasks requiring medium to heavy physical labor. * Ability to work in all kinds of weather conditions indoors and outdoors. * Ability to safely operate appropriate motor vehicles, pallet trucks and forklifts. * Ability to communicate effectively with others via email and phone.
