Job Description

The Spirit of the Position: The Vehicle Maintenance Technician will work with the Fleet Manager and perform any required maintenance on commercial vehicles. Pay rate: $18/hour Schedule: Full time Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm Principal Job Duties: * Vehicle Maintenance Technician will be stationed at Lot C maintenance shop. * Required to fill out various logs and records. * Perform maintenance on various kinds of commercial vehicles at location. * Follow the directions of the Fleet Manager. * Work closely with management * Assist with traffic when needed. Skills & Requirements: * This position requires a chauffer's license * Must have mechanical experience * Must show proof of working in maintenance related field in last twelve months * Must have some knowledge of commercial vehicles including gas, diesel, CNG * Must be able to operate snow removal equipment (Bobcat, salt spreaders, plow trucks) * Must be able to troubleshoot electrical related issues * Must stay in shift for a minimal of two years * Clocking in and out punctually. * Wearing complete clean company issued uniform. * Abiding by the negotiated work rules. * Remaining in your designated area unless directed otherwise by your supervisor. Physical Demands: * Willingness to work in the elements - heat, wind, snow, rain, etc. * Ability to lift, push and pull at least 50 pounds. * Ability to stand, walk and run for extended periods of time (95-100% of shift) * Ability to bend, stoop, squat and lift frequently throughout a shift.
