Job Description

Seeking Outstanding Faculty Investigators in Children’s and Women’s Health Research Texas Children’s Hospital (TCH) is embarking on a transformative expansion of our fundamental and translational biomedical research programs. We are seeking outstanding investigators to perform research broadly related to pediatric and women’s health research. MDs, PhDs, MD/PhDs (or those with comparable degrees) from diverse disciplines are encouraged to apply. Candidates should have experience in basic, translational, or clinical research; a demonstrated commitment to scholarly activity; and outstanding scientific accomplishments. A Major Biomedical Research Expansion Texas Children’s is the largest children’s hospital and pediatric care provider in the United States. It is also a prominent obstetrical care provider and the primary pediatric and OB-GYN training site for Baylor College of Medicine (BCM). Individuals recruited through this search will be full-time BCM faculty. We enjoy a culture of excellence and are making substantial and strategic investments to create an unparalleled research environment for our investigators. We recently founded the Texas Children’s Research Institute (TCRI), which currently houses investigators in five different academic departments, to promote and coordinate relevant research across disciplines at TCH, BCM, and the Texas Medical Center. The TCRI works collaboratively with the discovery and translational research efforts at the Jan and Dan Duncan Neurological Research Institute (NRI) and the Children’s Nutrition Research Center (CNRC), offering a platform for multidisciplinary research across much of biomedical science. A Career-Defining Opportunity New investigators will be hired as tenure-track or tenured BCM faculty, commensurate with achievement and experience. In addition to competitive salaries and generous start-up packages, laboratory and computational scientists will enjoyresearch-dedicated positions, use of BCM’s premier core facilities, and advanced computational resources and support, while physician-scientists will have flexibility in balancing their research and patient care goals. All investigators will have access to cutting-edge technology, infrastructure support, structured mentorship, and academic opportunities to ensure their long-term success. Most of our laboratories are in the TCRI and the NRI, depending on the nature of the research, and all research laboratories, facilities, and resources are within a short walking distance on our main campus. TCH has a uniquely large and heterogeneous patient population and is located in the Texas Medical Center, which employs over 100,000 people. These factors create numerous opportunities for outside collaborations with many prominent institutions, including Rice University, Texas A&M University (Houston Regional Campus), the MD Anderson Cancer Center, and UTHealth Houston. As the nation’s fourth largest city, Houston is also an attractive place to live. It’s fast growing and the most ethnically and culturally diverse city in the US, known for its excellent food and restaurants, museums, arts, culture, sports, schools, medical schools, and universities.  Application Qualified applicants should e-mail (1) a PDF version of their curriculum vitae and (2) a cover letter that includes (a) a two-page summary of their research interests and (b) contact information for three references to:  by November 1, 2025.
