Plant Maintenance - Facility Technician II

Job Summary: The Facilities Technician is responsible for performing a wide range of duties to maintain, repair, and improve the physical infrastructure of the facility. This role involves hands-on maintenance across multiple disciplines, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and general repairs to ensure a safe, clean, and functional work environment. Key Responsibilities: * Conduct routine inspections of facilities and equipment to identify maintenance needs and perform repairs / upgrades as needed. * Perform preventive maintenance tasks on HVAC systems, plumbing, lighting, and electrical systems. Perform minor building repairs including electrical, plumbing, painting, fixture mounting / exchanging, drywall repairs etc. * Respond promptly to maintenance requests, service tickets, and emergency repairs. * Assemble, install, or repair furniture, equipment, and fixtures. * Ensure that building systems are operating efficiently and comply with safety standards. * Work with contractors and vendors for specialized maintenance or repairs. * Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and work orders. * Ensure all tools and equipment are in good working condition. * Assist with office moves, furniture relocations, and space setups. * Maintain clean and organized mechanical rooms, storage areas, and common areas. * Follow all safety procedures and guidelines in daily operations. Qualifications: * High school diploma or GED required; technical training or certifications in HVAC, electrical, or plumbing is a plus. * 2+ years of experience in facilities maintenance or related field. * Strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills. * Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and equipment manuals. * Familiarity with safety standards (OSHA, building codes, etc.). * Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and basic diagnostic equipment. * Good communication and time management skills. * Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and perform manual labor as needed. Preferred Qualifications: * EPA 608 Certification (for HVAC roles) * Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS) * Work Environment: * Work is performed both indoors and outdoors. * May involve working in noisy, dirty, or hot/cold environments. * May require occasional evening or weekend work depending on operational needs. CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) experience
