Switchboard Operator (On-site)

We are currently seeking a Switchboard Operator on behalf of our client. This role involves direct interaction with the public and internal departments, requiring strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage a high volume of inquiries efficiently. Responding to customer service inquiries via telephone, written correspondence, email, and in-person communication Extracting information from Department of State (DOS) records to assist customers Directing customers to appropriate online databases, forms, applications, and instructional resources Explaining statutory requirements and agency policies and providing guidance on online application processes Reviewing applications for compliance with relevant laws, policies, and procedures Processing form and application fees, and reconciling daily cash reports Drafting written or email correspondence to applicants identifying errors or missing information in applications Electronically preserving records in compliance with DOS guidelines Creating and maintaining computerized license, registration, and filing records Answering approximately 60 call center calls per day Performing other administrative duties as assigned Qualifications: Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to handle a high volume of calls and multitask efficiently Comfort using computer systems and navigating online tools Attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures Benefits: Health Insurance Sick Time 401k Location: 99 Washington Ave, Albany NY 12231 Duration: approximately 2 years Apply by deadline: 8/4/2025 Shift Days/Times: M-F 8:30a.m.- 4:30p.m. Pay Range: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour (Depending on experience and qualifications) By applying for this job, you agree to receive calls, AI-generated calls, text messages, or emails from HEPCO, Inc and its affiliates, and contracted partners.
