If that sounds like you, you can win at Wilsonart. Truck Driver I - Position Overview Wilsonart, Memphis, has an immediate opening for a Truck Driver I. This individual will conduct assigned deliveries. Loads and unloads trucks in the assigned department/location. Performs other tasks as required. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Loads and unloads materials * Drives truck to destinations and returns safely * Maintains truck log according to state and federal regulations * Prepares and maintains required documentation * Performs emergency roadside repairs * Positions hazardous material trailer identification * Reads maps and plans routes to the load destination * Maintains acceptable driving record * Assists the needs of the customer * Assists in the distribution center as necessary or directed * Performs other tasks as required KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES * Knowledge of Department of Transportation and state regulations and local laws pertaining to vehicle operations * Knowledge of truck hauling procedures * Knowledge of hazardous waste materials and safe handling procedures * Skill in operating lift trucks * Ability to understand and follow directions * Ability to work independently and as a team MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS EDUCATION High School Graduate or GED Must have a valid Class B Commercial Driver's license Hazardous material endorsement EXPERIENCE 1+ years Local experience No chargeable accidents in three years PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking/pushing/climbing and lifting material or equipment of heavy weight (>50 lbs) Examples: grounds staff and EMS ENVIRONMENT: Located in an environment with regular exposure to fumes or odors, temperature extremes, or loud noises which cause noticeable discomfort or moderate risk of accident or illness. Examples: engineering, waste mgt, laundry workers and yards/grounds staff
