JOB PURPOSELicensed truck driver who will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of goods and other articles of trade to our customers. The truck driver will be tasked with driving and maintaining trucks, as well as working closely with the AMI team to plan routes and track deliveries.LEVEL OF AUTHORITY This position performs routine duties independently in accordance with established policies and procedures.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Essential Functions include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Safely operating a commercial vehicle, such as a tractor-trailer or box truck, to transport goods to their destination Adhering to federal and state laws and regulations, including hours of service limits and vehicle standards Using ropes, blocks, chains, or covers to secure cargo for transport Conducting pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and reporting any maintenance or safety issuesPlanning routes and schedules to meet delivery deadlines while optimizing fuel efficiency Maintaining accurate records of trips, including driver logs, mileage, and delivery receipts Loading and unloading cargo may be part of the job Reporting any incidents encountered on the road to immediate supervisorResponsible for picking up equipment Ability to winch none running equipment onto a trailer QUALIFICATIONS AND CAPABILITIESTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.TechnicalStrong knowledge of safety regulations, to be familiar with not just traffic laws but rules regarding how often they are required to rest, maximum miles driven and the likeA clean driving record, or they can have their license suspended or revokedPhysical fitness, since Truck Drivers are required to pass a physical exam every two yearsHand-eye coordination, since they must coordinate their hands, legs and eyes to maintain a fast reaction time on the roadsVisual and hearing acuity, in accordance with federal regulations which mandate that truck drivers have to hear a forced whisper at 5 feet, have at least 20/40 vision, a 70-degree field of vision and the ability to distinguish the colors of traffic lightsA Class A CDL or commercial driver license is required. Successful candidates must have a clean driving record and must pass a drug and alcohol test.Physical Ability to frequently lift, carry, bend, stoop and/or reach. Ability to exert 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently.Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment functional capacity test.
