Facility Maintenance Landscape Technician - TEMP

JOB OBJECTIVE The Facility Maintenance Landscape Technician (Landscape Technician) maintains the grounds of Clinicas' various locations using hand/ power tools and other equipment as needed. Works under the supervision of the Facility Maintenance Manager. Interacts with a multi-cultural population of diverse socioeconomic backgrounds, levels of education and ages. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES The Landscape Technician is responsible for performing the following duties: Mows or edges lawns using power mowers or edgers. Prunes or trims trees, shrubs, or hedges, using shears, pruners or chainsaws. Provides proper upkeep of sidewalks, parking lots, fountains, planters, or other grounds features. Cares for established lawns by mulching, aerating, weeding, grubbing, removing thatch, or trimming or edging around flower beds, walks, or walls. Plants new flowers and plants. Rakes leaves, gathers and removes litter. Monitors irrigation systems. Mixes and sprays or spreads fertilizers, herbicides, or insecticides onto grass, shrubs, or trees, using hand or automatic sprayers or spreaders. Operates vehicles or powered equipment, such as mowers, edgers, electric clippers, sod cutters, or pruning saws. Uses hand tools, such as shovels, rakes, pruning saws, saws, hedge or brush trimmers, or axes. Communicates with managers on the status and needs of each location. Drives trucks or other vehicles to or at work sites. Interacts in a professional manner and works collaboratively Clinicas' staff and patients. Provides excellent customer service to patients, vendors and employees. Performs other duties as assigned including participation in all safety programs which may include assignment to an emergency response team. Requirements EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS Minimum one year experience as a landscaper. Must be able to take direction and follow through on assigned projects. Must be able to organize, prioritize and work independently. Experience with machines such as lawn mowers, edgers, chainsaws and power blowers, etc. Must be able to lift approximately 35 lbs.
