If you're seeking a new career opportunity or project experience, our recruiters will work to understand your qualifications, experience, and personal goals.COMPENSATION:• $28.00 Per Hour• $150.00 Per Diem Offered, if Eligible• Travel Pay• 2 Weeks Lodging Paid by Construction Services• $1,000.00 Bonus• Referral BonusESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:• Work independently according to instructions, rules, and other standards• Frequently utilizes a variety of shipbuilding tools (grinders, torches, etc.)• Frequently reads shipbuilding blueprints and other technical documents• Frequently responsible for basic plate and stiffener assembly• Frequently responsible for large panel and double bottom production, including pre-outfitting• Frequently responsible for web line production, including plate cutting• Occasionally moves material• Occasionally stores material• Frequently keeps work area clean and organized, must be clean at the end of shift• Responsible for all areas in the yard production, including dry dock and fabrication• Responsible to check around all areas before starting hot work• Responsible to protect any areas from hot work, including painted areas, machinery etc.• Performs other duties as assignedSKILLS REQUIRED:• Read and comprehend blueprints and other technical documents.• Proficient with Flux Core tack welding.• Oxy Acetylene Burning Torch.• Weld Washing.• Utilize a variety of shipbuilding tools (grinders, torches, etc.).• Must successfully pass 1st Class Skill Test – (3F/4F SMAW & FCAW Tack Test).• Must successfully pass a Written Test & Blueprint Test.SCHEDULE:• 10-hour shift• 8-hour shift• Day shift• Night shiftEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:• 5 years’ experience in shipyards with shipbuilding production or ship repair businesses with manufacturing of heavy steel structures, production of pressure vessels, boilers, and other similar quality products, welding and fitting, hand tools, and industrial safety.• A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.• Must be able to read and comprehend blueprints.At HKA, we recognize the importance of matching employee goals with those of the employer.
