Manufacturing Technician

Job Title: Manufacturing Technician Location: Chillicothe, IL, 61523 Contract: 24 months Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled Technician to support our Rubber Components Testing Lab at Chillicothe, IL. This role involves testing, measurement, troubleshooting, and reporting on non-metallic/rubber components used in Caterpillar equipment. Key Responsibilities: Conduct tests using MTS benches, strong machines, and legacy equipment. Perform measurements, document results with photos, and assist in final analysis. Troubleshoot equipment issues, collaborating with lab managers and suppliers as needed. Operate forklifts and cranes to move heavy components. Ensure safety compliance and perform daily equipment checks. Required Skills: Equipment operation experience in a lab setting. Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of engineering principles. Proficiency with measurement tools (micrometers, calipers) and load cell adjustments. Qualifications: Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred; Bachelor’s or Master’s degrees are acceptable. No specific years of experience required, but experience with rubber materials, MTS/test benches preferred. Forklift operation experience is essential.
