Position Maintenance Technician Start Date ASAP Type 3 month contract to hire (25% conversion fee) Location Petersburg, VA (shift: 6A-4:30P) + OT Job Description: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Maintenance Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and assembly of electrolyzers. This role involves hands-on work with mechanical components, ensuring the efficient operation of our electrolyzer systems. Daily Tasks: Unbolt 1” flanges underneath the electrolyzer. Unthread ¼” nozzles on cells. Assist in removing cells from the electrolyzer and placing them in a cell rack using an overhead crane. Assist in laying cells flat on the assembly table. Remove outlet and inlet tubes from the cell. Remove 72 bolts per cell. Separate the anode and cathode. Discard the membrane. Wash the cells with water. Rebuild bolts for cells, including cleaning, re-greasing, and assembly of each bolt with 4 washers, a plastic sleeve, and a nut. Align new Gore-Tex gasket on the anode and cathode. Reassemble cell by placing membrane, frame gasket, and anode on the cathode. Install 72 bolts and tighten to specific torque. Reinstall cells in the electrolyzer. Bolt 1” flanges and thread the ¼” nozzles. Must Haves: Proven experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably with electrolyzers or similar equipment. Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and diagrams. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Physical ability to lift heavy components and work in various positions. Compensation: $18/hr to $23/hr. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
