Ensure staff provides professional and courteous service on phones and at counter. Respond to mail, voice mail, and e-mail appropriately. Maintain organized records and files (prescriptions, daily logs, Medicare records, orders, schedules, recall notices, personnel/staff paperwork and department paperwork) according to HIPPA regulations. Maintain prescription department security. Fill prescriptions and supervise filling of prescriptions (refills, newly written, telephone, faxed or prescribed orders from doctor’s offices) utilizing computer filling system. Review filled prescriptions for accuracy of drug selection, directions, generic equivalents, pricing and gross margin. Counsel patients/customers on proper use of prescription and OTC medications informing them of any side effects, drug interactions or contraindications. Communicate with doctors, nurses, pharmacists, pharmacy staff, customers, and third party insurance companies to coordinate patient care. Supervise administration of immunizations according to the type of immunizations permitted in the state in which you work. Maintain Pharmacy Department inventory. Order, receive, and stock RX product and supplies. Prepare for physical inventory. Maintain and monitor inventories, inventory management system(s), out of stocks, and out of dates. Customer Service - Contact customers as needed and communicate with them in a courteous and professional manner. Assist customers with HBC merchandise selection. Monitor and take ultimate responsibility for customer service levels throughout the pharmacy department (clerks and techs). Interface with supervision, operations, field support, and store management. Supervise staff - including hiring, coaching, training, developing, delegation of work assignments, and performance reviews. Monitor associate compliance with all company policies and procedures. Take ultimate responsibility for HR function within the department (managing grievances, terminations, attendance/tardiness counseling, dress code adherence). Monitor labor scheduling for proper customer service levels and budget considerations. Ensure scheduling complies with federal, state, and union guidelines. Paperwork - Ensure controlled drug information, ordering and record keeping is maintained. Complete all third party paperwork. Complete all drug recalls in a timely manner. Audits - Prepare for audits and inspections (state board, core audits, compliance audits, RPM and third party audits). Seek out marketing opportunities in the community and implement plan. Participate in and complete projects as assigned by the Regional Pharmacy Manager Essential Skills: Strong oral and written communication skills Strong analytical skills Customer focus Supervisory / leadership skills Attention to detail Strategic planning Requirements: Bachelors Degree in Pharmacy or Pharm D Degree from an accredited school of Pharmacy Current Pharmacy License in good standing in the State in which you work.
