Shipping Worker Job Overview: The Shipping Worker is to perform all shipping responsibilities including verifying and keeping all records of incoming and outgoing shipments organized, preparing all finished products for shipping, using hand and power tools, including forklifts and power lifts, while meeting safety, quality and productivity standards. Duties and Responsibilities * Receive paperwork from office for future shipments * Process paperwork according to product received from Production Department * Organize incomplete orders in the shipping area * Pull inventory from stock to accurately fulfill customer shipments * Print and apply customer specific and appropriate shipping labels, barcodes and/or packing lists in preparation for shipments * Stage product in the proper area for shipment * Assist Receiving as needed: inspect and unload incoming shipments, observe and document shortages, and refuse damaged or unacceptable items * Banding and wrapping products as needed * Track internal movements of late or soon to be late orders * Use forklift to move finished goods as needed * Reporting defective materials or questionable conditions to appropriate Production Leaders * Help maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies * Assist with scheduling trucks for all customers as needed * Scan and send receiving documents to appropriate team members * Work as part of a team and keep the areas clean and organized * Perform other duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills and Abilities * Experience using power tools * Forklift experience, Myers certified preferred * Strong computer literacy * Attention to detail * Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment * Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the position Education and Experience * High school Diploma or GED * 1-2 years' experience in Manufacturing preferred Physical Requirements * Ability to stand, sit, walk, bend, twist, pull, push, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, assemble, and carry parts for extended periods of time * Frequently lift parts weighing up to 50 pounds alone and parts more than 50 pounds with assistance * Ability to perform in a manufacturing environment that may have high noise levels, dust, chemicals, oil, and grease * Ability to work in an environment that may be either hot, cold or humid
