Estate Planning Attorney

If you have experience in estate planning, you may be an excellent addition to our growing law firm. We are looking for a highly analytical candidate with good negotiation and organizing skills who can work full time. As our estate planning attorney, you will draft wills, trusts, and powers of attorney for our clients and their families. To ensure that an estate's management is handled in accordance with the wishes of the estate owner, this position requires a significant level of responsibility. Compensation:$90,000 - $151,000 yearly Responsibilities:Represent clients in court proceedings as neededMaintain client files to ensure they are properly organized and up to dateAdvocate on behalf of clients by understanding their needs, effectively analyzing the situation, and forming a strategy for a plan of actionDiscuss plans with clients for distributing clients' assetsCollaborate with senior partners and paralegals to effectively move files through the civil litigation processBeing a direct point of contact for clients on the creation and implementation of their respective estate planning strategy in a way that will make the client want to leave a 5-star Google Review with your name in itAdvising clients about their estate planning options, the pros, and cons of each strategy, and providing a fiduciary recommendation from a "down-to-earth" perspective that clients will understand and appreciateBeing a mentor to less-experienced team members and an advocate for team member growth and educationContributing to the success of the team, even if it means going outside of your job descriptionKeeping unneeded drama out of the office and contributing to our solid team cultureHelping to grow the firm's presence throughout Suffolk and Nassau Counties Qualifications:Experience at a legal firm working on estate planning and probate law issues for at least 1-2 years is requiredMember in good standing and actively involved with the ABA (American Bar Association)Candidates should be great communicators, specifically in situations when emotions and stress are high4-year degree with a legal background and J.D. degree are necessary for this positionUnderstanding of a variety of real estate matters, including title insurance, wills and trusts, property management, and litigationLicensed to practice law in the state of New York (DO NOT APPLY IF YOU ARE NOT LICENSED IN NEW YORK)At least 3 years of progressive experience with estate planning and probate matters at a law firm that focuses on estate planning and probateThe right candidate must be able to report to the office as requiredHigh emotional intelligenceBusiness and tech-savvy, or a quick learnerExperience and comfort with one-on-one consultation meetings with clients on your own About Company Sheryll Law, P.C., provides comprehensive, customized, and compassionate estate planning services.Our mission is clear: we strive to help clients leave behind the legacy they desire.
