Project ManagerThe Matan Companies is hiring a Project Manager position to support their Development team in Suffolk, Virginia and surrounding areas.The Project Manager plays an integral role in the execution of portfolio-wide strategies and the development of value within the real estate asset portfolio.Responsibility for the oversight of all aspects of a construction project, including but not limited to reviewing submittals, RFIs, potential change orders, and managing with the Owners consultants will be the primary requirements for this role.The successful candidate will be able to multitask on several different projects at one time. Can collaborate and work well within a team structure environment but is self-motivated, detail-oriented, a good communicator, well-spoken and written.This candidate must demonstrate an ability to meet deadlines while delivering quality work in a fast-paced environment coupled with an ownership mindset.Major Responsibilities and Duties:Overseeing multiple active construction projects of various types (base building construction Commercial and Industrial and Tenant Improvement)Review / Approval of SubmittalsReview / Approval of Requests for InformationReview / Approval of Potential Change OrdersIdentify and suggest resolution to Field IssuesSite construction experience.Strong contractor management experience.Ensure quality of construction per plans and specificationsAssist in preliminary pricing of upcoming projectsReview / Comment on designs for constructability issues help guide overall project design.Manage bid process and Contractor selection, including bid comparison.Construction Contract review and preparationScheduling / Forecasting for projectsManaging ongoing project costsManaging the Investors expectations during the projectFoster relationships with Contractors, Consultants and TenantsCollaborate with all other Departments within the Company ensuring transparency.Required Qualifications:8+ years experience as a commercial construction Project Manager/Assistant Project Manager / Project Superintendent8+ years experience in project bid processes and CPM project schedulingWell versed in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel and MS ProjectRecommended Qualifications and Skills:Strong communications skillsCivil / Sitework experienceSelf-Starting and independently motivatedAbility to problem solve.Ability to think outside the box.Strong customer service skillsKnowledge of the International Building CodeKnowledge of construction materials and methodsAccountable, professional, and a positive attitudePlease forward all resumes Companies is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
