Senior Mechanical Engineer - Baltimore, MDLocation: Baltimore, MD (Hybrid - 3 days/week in office)Salary: $110,000-$155,000 + BenefitsTravel: 10%-20% (local and occasional out-of-state travel)Employment Type: Full-timeA leading engineering and professional services firm is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their Baltimore-based team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer to lead HVAC system design for new construction and renovation projects across a variety of sectors, including federal, healthcare, higher education, and science and technology.Role Overview:The Senior Mechanical Engineer will provide technical leadership in the design and documentation of mechanical systems. This role involves client engagement, project management, and mentoring junior engineers, with a focus on delivering high-quality, code-compliant solutions.Key Responsibilities:Design HVAC systems for new and existing facilities.Conduct load and energy calculations using tools such as Trace 700/3D or IES.Perform site surveys and document existing mechanical systems.Develop system design calculations and equipment selections.Prepare construction drawings, specifications, and technical reports.Ensure code compliance and perform QA/QC reviews.Lead project teams and serve as the primary client contact.Support business development and client relationship efforts.Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.Professional Engineer (PE) license.Minimum of 10 years of mechanical design experience.Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office.Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, codes, and design standards.U.S. Citizenship required; ability to obtain or maintain a Secret Security Clearance.Preferred Qualifications:At least 2 years of project management experience.Experience with federal, healthcare, or institutional projects.LEED experience or certification.Certified Energy Manager (CEM) designation is a plus.Why Apply:Join a mission-driven, employee-owned firm with a strong commitment to sustainability and innovation.Work on impactful projects that shape communities and institutions.Enjoy a competitive compensation package, including 401(k) with match, stock purchase options, generous PTO, and more.
