About Hojokban: Hojokban is a Korean restaurant built on the spirit of sharing, bringing people together over meals that are sincere and flavorful. Founded in Seoul’s iconic Cheongdam neighborhood in 2019, the restaurant quickly became one of the buzziest and most beloved in the city, balancing retro charm with inventive takes on Korean classics. Hojokban expanded to New York City in 2023, where it has quickly become one of Manhattan’s top dining destinations and has been featured in The New York Times, Eater, and The Infatuation. We are thrilled to bring Hojokban to Los Angeles with our next location, opening in the dynamic Arts District in Fall 2025 - an exciting new chapter for the brand and for diners eager to experience our approach to Korean cuisine. As the brand grows, we are building a team that shares our passion for genuine hospitality and for creating meaningful dining experiences. We are currently looking for ALL Back of the House Hourly positions: Line Cook Prep Cook Porter (i.e. Dish Washer/Polisher) We're building a tight-knit, warm and passionate team to be a vital part of opening Hojokban - Arts District! 2 or more years in the hospitality industry preferred for Line Cooks 1 or more years in the hospitality industry preferred for Prep Cooks Passion for hospitality and interest in being part of an opening team Experience in a Korean restaurant is a plus BOH staff responsibilities include (but are not limited to): Fundamental knowledge of relevant food preparation, ingredients, and techniques Experience in a full service kitchen preferred High standards of cleanliness, organization, and overall kitchen hygine Understanding of food safety standards Foster a positive work culture by extending professionalism and respect to guests, fellow team members, neighbors and everyone in between Available to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, nights, and/or holidays Arrive on time every day of work, clock in fully ready in appropriate attire in accordance with company uniform guidelines Responsibly manage one’s own time clock; break and clock in/out on time, communicate promptly with leadership when time clock error is made Report any quality or inventory issues promptly to leadership Valid California Food Handler's Certification is strongly preferred Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 35 lbs Safely and effectively use all necessary tools and equipment Stand and walk for an entire shift, including moving safely through all areas of the restaurant While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, bend, walk, use and reach with hands, carry, stretch, wrist movement, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling. Working conditions involve noise, heat, cold, temperature changes, kitchen elements, odors, moisture, exposure to FDA-approved cleaning chemicals and more.
