General Description The reservationist is often the first impression of any new guests to the Wythe—it is imperative to provide a warm and genuine experience to the guest by phone or email. It is essential to the Wythe Hotel that all guest relations are kind, thoughtful, personal and professional in a manner that is consistent with our ethos. The reservationist is responsible for overseeing guest inquiries, bookings and communications via phone and email. It is the responsibility of the reservationist to act with a contagious enthusiasm that the guest can feel. We want future and returning guests to ‘feel’ your smile through the phone. The reservationist should be clear, concise and enticing! Turning phone calls into garden terrace birthday dinners and emails into regular brunch patrons. Job Responsibilities / Essential Functions Answering phones in a polite and hospitable manner, taking reservations and guest requests. Answering guest’s questions, but most importantly putting the guests at ease! Welcome all guests warmly and with a positive demeanor. Handling Resy to make guest’s check-in and seating appear effortless and seamless. Maintaining updated and organized table information in Resy. Conveying all appropriate guest information to managers, staff and chefs [i.e. VIP’s, special occasions, special requests, etc.] Googling and identifying every single reservation. Collaborating with management of all venues for daily maintenance and upkeep of all guest Resy profiles. Giving our floor staff all the tools to personalize and tailor each guest experience. [What do they enjoy drinking? What’s their preferred table? What dishes do they dislike? When is their birthday? When is their anniversary?] Quoting accurate wait times for guests. Accommodating guest requests when possible. Going above and beyond at every opportunity. Offering a warm farewell to every guest at the end of each call. Immediately notifying management of guest complaints, including any interactions with a guest that leads the host to believe that the guest is not 100% happy with their visit. Maintaining a clean, orderly host stand/office area. Position Skills and Requirements Must have PM and weekend availability. Able to lift up to 5 lbs. Able to communicate clearly and concisely. Able to work as part of a team. Able to work in a fast paced, noisy environment. Excellent phone and communication skills.
