Job Title: Senior Commercial Electrical EstimatorLocation: Reston, VAEmployment Type: Full-Time, On-SiteHours: 8AM-5PMPay Range: $80K-120KCompany Overview: Contemporary Electrical Services is a leading firm in the commercial electrical contracting industry since 1989 and is a IBEW Local 26/NECA contractor. Reliability in precision and excellence has earned us the trust of our clients.Position overview: We are seeking an experienced Commercial Electrical Estimator to join our growing team and contribute their expertise to large-scale projects while helping to train and mentor others. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical estimating and a proven ability to manage projects from takeoff to final pricing. This position will be part of an estimating team, reporting to the CEO and having other estimators report to you.Job roles/ responsibilities: Perform quantitative takeoff of construction drawings and documentsPrepare detailed bids and proposals in coordination with Project Managers and leadershipWork with the estimating team and Project Managers to understand project requirementsAssist Project Managers in reviewing revised project documents to prepare change orders for our customersProject size ranges from small service to $50 million jobsTrain and mentor junior estimators and staff in Accubid software and best practicesCommunicate with customers as requiredEstimating team is expected to complete a minimum of 25 bids/week or 5/day as a wholeTurnaround times is dependent based on client needs and variesManage bid list once bid list is establishedStrong knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and construction practicesSkills Qualifications: High School diploma required5-10 years of experience as a commercial electrical estimator, preferably in a union environmentProficiency with Accubid estimating software is requiredAbility to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentsKnowledge and functional use of Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Excel, Word, SharePoint)Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skillsStrong attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlinesExperience mentoring or training team members is a plusAbility to work well with othersWorking Conditions:Standard office environment.Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Benefits: Competitive salary and compensation packagesCompany Cell PhoneParticipation in company profit sharing plan.Annual bonus program at discretion of ownership based upon performance and achievement.PTO/ Vacation/ Family LeaveFull Health, Dental, and Vision coverage provide at no cost to the employee for you and your family.Contemporary Electrical Services is an equal-opportunity employer including disability and protected veteran status.
