JOB TITLE: Software Project Manager StaffJOB SUMMARYThe Software Project Manager serves as a dynamic leader responsible for driving successful software project delivery while facilitating effective development practices across teams. Working closely with the Lead Software Engineer and Software System Engineer, this position bridges technical leadership and project management to deliver high-quality software solutions on schedule and within scope. The Software Project Manager also works closely with the business area project management team to ensure seamless integration of software activities into overall project execution. The role requires balancing tactical iteration execution with strategic project planning while fostering a collaborative, high-performing team environment. ESSENTIAL DUTIESLead the team in iteration planning, including scope definition and commitment settingIdentify and remove impediments to a project or teams progressDrive daily team status meetings to identify and resolve blockersTrack and report iteration progress including burndown and missed requirementsManage dependencies across iterations (n-1, n, n+1, n+2) and coordinate with dependent teamsWork with Lead SW Engineer and appropriate team members on backlog refinement and defect managementFacilitate and manage effort estimation within projects across different levels of backlog items (Features, Epics, Stories, etc.)Facilitate iteration demonstrations and retrospectives to drive continuous improvementCoordinate integration planning and dependencies with Software System EngineerReport iteration status and risks to SW Project Lead and program managementMaintain overall project roadmap aligned with program commitmentsManage multiple development teams across onshore and offshore locationsDrive risk mitigation strategies before impact to iteration commitmentsCoordinate status and execution planning with Business rea Platform Project ManagerContinuously improve effectiveness and efficiencies of a teams performance and productivityPlan and coordinate team execution and deliverables through all phases of Design Control and project life cycle including Software Design Transfer and Software Release activitiesSupport teams and projects in the completion of Design Control artifacts and deliverablesUse metrics and data to measure teams effectivenessOTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESList bulleted items that are not clearly essential to the job or the reason why the job exists, and/or duties/tasks that are shared with other associates. MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTSEducationBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fieldProject management professional certifications preferredExperience5+ years of software project management experienceTrack record of successful project deliveryExperience managing multiple concurrent software development projectsExperience working with distributed/offshore teamsExperience with project management tools and tracking systemse.SkillsExpert level understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies and best practicesStrong understanding of FDA Design Controls and QMS processesDemonstrated project planning, estimation, and resource management capabilitiesAbility to manage multiple priorities and coordinate cross-functional teamsStrong risk assessment and mitigation skillsExperience facilitating development team meetings and practicesExcellent verbal and written communication abilitiesStrong interpersonal and team-building capabilitiesDemonstrated leadership and conflict resolution skillsAbility to influence without direct authorityStrong analytical and problem-solving capabilitiesDecision-making skills under pressureAbility to understand and communicate technical system features, functionality and dependencies-Or-An equivalent competency level acquired through a variation of these qualifications may be considered.Certificates, Licenses, RegistrationsProject management and/or scrum certifications preferredPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSTypical Office Environment requirements include: reading, speaking, hearing, close vision, traverse, bending, sitting, and occasional lifting up to 20 pounds.Additional Physical RequirementsHybrid Position requiring 3 days per week in person at the Lakewood, CO Headquarters, and additional days required to perform the role
