We are tendering for the construction supervision of Zero-Emission Bus Infrastructure works in the San Francisco Bay Area, California. including bus electrification infrastructure, hydrogen fuel cell electric bus infrastructure, as well as industrial and commercial new buildings & renovations. As a Resident Engineer (Transportation), you will involve extensive interface management with stakeholders and contractors. You will provide oversight of the construction process to ensure that the construction project is safely and accurately implemented on site adhering to the requirements of the construction contract and permitting requirements. You will hand-deliver & personally produce the client deliverables such as documentation for change management, triage multidisciplinary RFI's and Submittals for projects in their construction phases, execute construction contracts & follow established construction management workflows & controls processes. You will identify potential issues, delays, and risks using a critical path analysis method and subsequently develop & execute comprehensive solutions. You will lead a team in monitoring the progress of construction project and advising steps to ensure the project goals are achieved. You will have the opportunity to direct a team of support staff and site Inspectors for the supervision of the project. You will report on progress, safety, financial projections, quality control and changes in the contract work. You will occasionally work near hazardous equipment and machinery when in the field, work near hazarded sources of potential energy, walk on uneven ground, be exposed to dust, gas or fumes, noise, extremes in temperature, and potential work at heights. You will develop a trusted relationship with the project team, contractor and with the client's staff. You will place an emphasis on safe construction practices (Beyond Zero) and on maintaining a high quality of construction. Lead by example and oversee safe practices on site. Here's what you'll need * Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Construction Management. * 15+ years of experience as a Resident Engineer, Project Manager, Engineer, or Construction Manager in an Engineering, Architectural, Environmental or Construction organization * 7+ years of proven experience in Construction Management, Resident Engineer, or similar position working on rail, transportation, or public works. * 3+ years of proven experience in zero-emission transit projects including vertical construction, switchgear, cross-platform systems integration, land development, power generation, energy management, clean energy, and land development projects. * Knowledge of construction including material, methods, plans and specifications; associated safety requirements. * In-office presence at least 3 days per week (full time preferred) * Strong working knowledge of pre-design and pre-construction, contract management, project delivery methods, team building and client relationship. * Valid Drivers license and good driving history Ideally, you'll also have: * Proven experience and knowledge with electrification projects * Proven experience and knowledge with industrial building retrofits * Proven experience and knowledge with SWPPP requirements & NPDES General Permits * Professional Engineer (PE) license * SamTrans or Caltrain experience #WestPMCM Posted Salary Range: Minimum 130,400.00 Posted Salary Range: Upper 195,000.00 Our health and welfare benefits are designed to invest in you, and in the things you care about. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
