Job Title: Senior Commercial Electrical Estimator Location: Reston, VA Employment Type: Full-Time, On-Site Hours: 8AM-5PM Pay Range: $80K-120K Company Overview: Contemporary Electrical Services is a leading firm in the commercial electrical contracting industry since 1989 and is a IBEW Local 26/NECA contractor. Position overview: We are seeking an experienced Commercial Electrical Estimator to join our growing team and contribute their expertise to large-scale projects while helping to train and mentor others. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical estimating and a proven ability to manage projects from takeoff to final pricing. This position will be part of an estimating team, reporting to the CEO and having other estimators report to you. Job roles/ responsibilities: Perform quantitative takeoff of construction drawings and documents Prepare detailed bids and proposals in coordination with Project Managers and leadership Work with the estimating team and Project Managers to understand project requirements Assist Project Managers in reviewing revised project documents to prepare change orders for our customers Project size ranges from small service to $50 million jobs Train and mentor junior estimators and staff in Accubid software and best practices Communicate with customers as required Estimating team is expected to complete a minimum of 25 bids/week or 5/day as a whole Turnaround times is dependent based on client needs and varies Manage bid list once bid list is established Strong knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and construction practices Skills Qualifications: High School diploma required 5-10 years of experience as a commercial electrical estimator, preferably in a union environment Proficiency with Accubid estimating software is required Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents Knowledge and functional use of Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Excel, Word, SharePoint) Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills Strong attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines Experience mentoring or training team members is a plus Ability to work well with others Working Conditions: Standard office environment.
