Chef's Special is looking for a new General Manager who exercises good judgement, has an ambitious nature and knows how to read a room. It is imperative our managers lead by example to cultivate a welcoming and professional atmosphere for the staff and guests alike. Candidates should be solution focused and enjoy a fast paced environment while keeping their cool under pressure. This position is best suited for a forward thinking individual with a strong sense of self. Our ideal candidate has experience in a volume atmosphere. The General Manager is expected to work 5 days a week and 40-50 hours with open availability. Chef's Special Cocktail Bar is a full service restaurant and cocktail bar with 50 dining room seats, 21 bar stools and an additional 30 patio seats during the warm months. We serve homestyle Chinese- American food along with bold cocktails that balance tropical and floral flavors. We are open 7 days a week for dine-in, take-out and delivery. BENEFITS: 100% subsidized Blue Cross and Blue Shield PPO 100% subsidized dental insurance Three weeks paid time off Cell phone stipend Dining discounts at Chef's Special and Giant Bonus Opportunities RESPONSIBILITIES: -ensures the restaurant is fully operational and functioning to the best of its ability -oversees the work of two floor managers, two supervisors and twenty Front of House employees -creates a hospitable culture of with sincerity and customization to the guest experience -leads with generosity and builds trust with their team -resolves customer facing issues with professionalism -meets regularly with staff for feedback on operations -possesses strong knowledge and ability to program third party systems such as Toast, Resy and Caviar -develops strong ability to use applications such as Wordpress and InDesign -manages store revenue from sales to comps and discounts -performs accurate bi-weekly payroll reports and manages staff PTO -interviews, onboards and trains new Front of House staff members - updates and implements new hire training materials -sets clear expectations for staff and floor managers - develops intuitive systems for service that create efficiency for staff while maintaining a welcoming atmosphere for guests -creates policies with intention and implements them consistently -creates an equitable and safe environment for staff and guests -disciplines in a fair and consistent manner -communicates honest feedback regularly to staff and other managers -create and improves internal policies -hosts weekly manager meetings with agenda, goals and focus for team -helps organize and execute special events -keeps the space and equipment clean, organized and operational -supports staff on the floor during the shift
