The Save A Lot Store Manager is responsible for creating an excellent shopping experience for all customers, driving sales growth & profitability, and establishing an engaging work environment for all team members. The Store Manager leads an assigned retail store and ensures and maintains store operational standards, key performance metrics, and targets set forth by the company.The Store Manager provides leadership to the full store team resulting in excellent daily store conditions and a positive work environment in a manner that maximizes sales & profitability and provides an excellent, unique, and satisfying shopping experience for our customers.The Store Manager is directly responsible for the recruitment, selection, training, motivation, coaching, and development of their store team members to ensure we retain the best store teams and deliver best-in-class store operations. The Store Manager ensures all store team members comply with all Save A Lot policies and procedures, along with all City, State, and Federal requirements.Benefits Include: Health, vision, dental, 401K with up to 4% match, ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan), and PTO.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Provides leadership, coaching, and development to store team members regarding their tasks, duties, role requirements, and performance standards. Creates a positive, safe, and clean store environment for team members and customers where they enjoy working and shopping. Recruits talented, highly motivated, committed team members with positive attitudes who possess the skills and behaviors to successfully complete role requirements using the established process, tools, and resources set out by Save A Lot. Trains, develops, mentors, and coaches all team members to success within their roles today and into the future by upskilling them using best practice tools and techniques. Takes genuine interest in the growth, development, and success of all team members through rigorous job screening, feedback, teaching, mentoring, and progressive disciplinary actions as required to ensure performance standards are met. Consistently and effectively communicates across all stakeholders, including but not limited to store team members, District Managers, Regional Directors, and others. Ensures the store is operated according to the operational standards set forth by the company and in a manner that maximizes sales, profits, and a world-class shopping experience for our customers. Provides leadership that results in excellent daily store conditions, including but not limited to required daily produce, meat, and center store department operations that fully adhere to Save A Lot’s operational standards and programs. Maintains a clean, safe, and secure work environment by owning the daily execution of Food Safety, Health & Safety, and Compliance policies and practices in line with Company, Federal, State, or City requirements. Responsible for key metrics of store operations, including sales, customer counts, labor productivity, shrink, and Customer Perception Audit (CPA) scores. Analyzes, understands, and utilizes operational/financial data to make appropriate and well-thought-out business decisions. Responsible for merchandising program execution, all plan-o-grams, displays, price signs/tags, and COOL signage. Maintains a high standard of operation for customers, including a full, fresh, clean, and friendly place to shop. This includes managing inventory levels to store-specific metrics and ensuring quality, freshness, and effective rotation practices to meet Save A Lot’s high standards. Responsible for excellent fresh product offering and management, including in-stock positions, conditions, and shrink exposures. Responsible for the implementation of and compliance with all Save A Lot policies and procedures; this includes, but is not limited to: Accounting procedures and practices, Cash Handling, Inventory Processes, Loss Prevention, Payroll Administration, Sanitation, Food Safety, Best Methods, CPA, documentation, policy violations, administrative paperwork, and initiating effective communication with the support team as needed. Acquires Food Safety Certification in accordance with Save A Lot policies and City/State requirements. Protects company property, funds, and merchandise at all times. Deals with DSD vendors and holds them accountable to vendor policies. Supports competitive environment research. Responsibilities, duties, and skills required may vary within each department and/or location.Position Qualifications:Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Must be 18 years of age. High School diploma or equivalent required. Basic computer proficiency. Minimum of three to five (3–5) years of management experience. Management/Leadership experience supervising others, along with previous experience in scheduling, merchandising, budgeting, and expense control preferred. Leadership and/or Management Training preferred. Effective oral and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to effectively manage multiple competing priorities and tasks. Ability to complete administrative paperwork in a timely manner. Proficient in planning and analytical skills (comprehension of P&L, budget, and expense). Strong time management, planning, and organizational skills. Bilingual is an advantage.
