JOB FAIR 716 N FAIRFAX Ave LA, CA 90046 (PURPLE BUILDING) 9/15 FROM 10AM-4PM Job Summary The Barista prepares and serves high-quality specialty coffee, Japanese teas, juices, and innovative specialty drinks while delivering exceptional customer service. This role requires attention to detail, passion for beverage artistry, and the ability to create a welcoming environment for guests. The Barista will also support the team in maintaining a clean, efficient, and guest-focused operation. Duties/Responsibilities Prepare and serve specialty coffee beverages, artisanal teas, fresh juices, and creative specialty drinks with consistency and precision. Provide knowledgeable guidance to customers about beverage offerings, including origin, preparation, and flavor profiles. Maintain cleanliness and organization of counter, espresso machines, brewing equipment, and customer areas. Monitor and manage inventory of coffee, tea, milk alternatives, and other beverage-related supplies; communicate needs to management. Accurately process transactions using the POS system, handle cash responsibly, and ensure integrity in all sales. Assist in food service duties as needed, including plating pastries, bread, and other menu items for guests. Uphold company standards for hospitality by engaging warmly with customers and creating a welcoming atmosphere. Adhere to food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety regulations at all times. Participate in ongoing training to expand beverage knowledge and refine technical skills. Perform other related duties as assigned Required Skills/Abilities Strong knowledge of specialty coffee preparation methods (espresso, pour-over, cold brew) and tea service. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills; ability to create memorable guest experiences. Detail-oriented with a focus on consistency, accuracy, and presentation. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Commitment to cleanliness, organization, and professional appearance. Education and Experience Previous barista or specialty coffee/tea experience preferred. Training in latte art or advanced coffee brewing techniques is a plus. Must successfully complete the Boul'Ange training program. Physical Requirements Prolonged periods of standing and walking. Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds. Manual dexterity to operate espresso machines, grinders, and other equipment.
