Mechanical Buyer Lisle, IL Direct Hire $65-75K yrly Mechanical Buyer Supply Chain Team We are seeking a detail-oriented Mechanical Buyer to support our growing Supply Chain operations. This role reports directly to the Purchasing Manager and plays a critical part in ensuring the smooth flow of materials for production. What Youll Do Review and process mechanical Bills of Materials (BOMs) released by the engineering team. Source vendors, request quotations, and issue purchase orders for mechanical components. Negotiate pricing for individual orders as well as long-term supply agreements. Monitor order status, track delivery schedules, and expedite shipments when necessary. Collaborate closely with Mechanical Engineering to align on requirements and resolve issues. Communicate significant cost or delivery variances to management. Help establish and maintain consistent purchasing practices across the department. Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure quality and reliability. Qualifications Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and material specifications. Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and purchasing systems. Experience sourcing electrical components is a plus. Knowledge of fabrication processes such as machining, welding, and sheet metal work is helpful.
