Transmission Engineer (Atlanta)

Transmission Engineer Transmission & Distribution (Atlanta or Charlotte) A leading engineering and construction firm is seeking a Transmission Engineer to support its growing Transmission & Distribution practice in the Southeast. Key Responsibilities Perform, lead, and oversee all engineering responsibilities related to overhead transmission line design (69kV500kV). Utilize tools such as PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, and PLS-Tower for line routing, modeling, structure analysis, sag-tension, and clearance reports. Prepare specifications for construction, hardware, and materials , including structure and hardware design and field installation supervision. Develop construction drawings and cost estimates for high-voltage overhead transmission lines. Provide instruction and guidance to junior staff, with the potential to grow into a leadership role . Act as a key technical lead on projects and perform quality reviews. Qualifications Bachelors degree in Engineering from an accredited program (required). EIT or Professional Engineer license strongly preferred. Minimum 3 years of experience in the design and routing of high-voltage overhead transmission line facilities (Masters degree may substitute for 1 year). Strong skills in PLS software and Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent written and verbal communication, problem-solving, and team collaboration skills. Experience in 69kV500kV transmission line design preferred.
