Overview The AGV Maintenance Technician position will be responsible for ensuring the operational availability and reliability of our Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV) forklifts. As an AGV Technician, you will play a critical role in operating and troubleshooting our AGV fleet, working closely with the AGV Operations Manager to optimize AGV performance and minimize downtime. This is a hands-on, physically demanding role that requires a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced warehouse environment. Responsibilities Responsible for inspection, repair, and diagnostics and availability of AGV Fleet. Responsible for preventive maintenance, repair and availability of Conveyor systems used in conjunction with AGV operations Document required maintenance records into provided systems. Review data to assess vehicle performance and determine if adjustments or calibration is required Identify parts needing replaced and provide information to customer for parts ordering Receive, report, store and track consumption of replacement parts Work with cross-functional teams, including production, maintenance, and engineering, to resolve AGV-related issues and improve overall system performance Continuously learn new technical information and repair techniques through training from HQ and engineers. Ensure spare parts inventories and/or consignment inventories are being maintained, stored and consumed consistent with procedures Utilizes the computerized maintenance management systems to their fullest potential as a tool to keep the department organized and as a communication tool to the plant and corporate management Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with AGV navigation, control systems, and communication networks Conduct preventative maintenance (PM) activities, such as software updates, to ensure AGV reliability and performance Respond to AGV system alarms and errors, performing corrective maintenance and initial repairs as needed to minimize production impact Utilize advanced computer skills to access and analyze AGV system data, perform software updates, and configure system settings Participate in the continual development and improvement of maintenance policies, procedures and standard operating procedures for the facility Ensure compliance with good manufacturing practices (GMP's) Performs other duties as assigned Qualifications High School Diploma / GED required. Certification in Mechatronics or Automotive Technology preferred. A technical Associate's Degree preferred. Ability to evaluate / diagnose a situation and improve or repair the equipment. Working knowledge of shop equipment such RFID tag readers, diagnostic equipment, and AGV systems. 3+ years of experience working with AGV systems, material handling equipment, or similar technologies Strong technical background in electrical, mechanical, and software systems, with experience in troubleshooting and repairing complex systems Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze and resolve complex technical issues Advanced computer skills, including experience with AGV system software, programming languages, and data analysis tools Must have command of the English language, both written and verbal Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, including schematics, diagrams, and maintenance manuals Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods of time, up to 12 hours a day Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours a day, including over varied and uneven terrain Stoop, lay, bend, reach, squat, kneel, crouch, twist and crawl for extended periods of time, including up to 12 hours a day Wearing Personal Protective Equipment, including but not limited to: PAPR, safety glasses, safety shoes, bump caps, and adhering to prescribed safety rules and guidelines Warehouse Maintenance safety procedures to include but not limited to: Lock Out Tag Out, Fall Restraint, and Forklift/MHE Operational Safety intermediate required. Knowledge of operating MHE to include by not limited to: Forklift, Scissor Lift, Boom Lift, etc. intermediate required. Ability to work independently in a safe manner including working at heights.
