Job Description

Our client is seeking a licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) to lead and expand their municipal water/wastewater utility practice in Tampa, Florida . This high-impact role offers the chance to manage complex utility infrastructure projects in a city known for its vibrant coastal culture and strong community. Responsibilities Lead the planning, design, and permitting of water and wastewater utility infrastructure, including distribution, collection, pumping, and treatment systems Manage project scope, schedule, budget, and client communication Serve as the primary liaison with municipal clients, subconsultants, and regulatory agencies Supervise and mentor engineers and technical staff Support business development efforts , including proposals, fee estimates, and industry engagement Oversee QA/QC procedures , project financials, and internal resource allocation Provide construction phase support , including submittal review, site visits, and contractor coordination Qualifications Required: B.S. in Civil or Environmental Engineering Professional Engineer (PE) license in Florida, or ability to obtain within 6 months via reciprocity Minimum 6 years of experience in utility engineering, including 2+ years in a project management or lead role Knowledge of permitting processes and experience with municipal clients Proficient with Microsoft Office and AutoCAD Civil 3D Valid driver's license and clean driving/criminal record Preferred: 10+ years working with Florida municipal utility systems Strong client network along the northern Gulf Coast Familiarity with FDEP permitting , utility coordination, and regulatory compliance Demonstrated success managing complex, multidisciplinary infrastructure projects Benefits Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) Competitive salary + PTO, including holidays, bereavement, parental, military, and medical leave Multiple office locations and hybrid work options Tuition reimbursement and professional development programs Early career mentoring, online training, and certification support Supportive and collaborative team culture Salary Range: $150,000 $170,000 DOE
