Restaurant and Job Overview: We're inviting people who are passionate about food and food service to join us in launching a new restaurant venture, Cerveau.  Building on 12-years' experience leading Pizza Brain, the world's first pizza museum and restaurant (and Philly go to destination), Executive Chef Joe Hunter and his team are spearheading a new, Philly cicchetti experience featuring Mediterranean-inspired dishes and classic pizza.  Located in Spring Arts on Spring Garden in a "loungy," "arts-forward" space, we’ll create Cerveau to be a new third place to vibe with friends, family, neighbors and colleagues. For Host, we’re looking for staff with the smiles and energy to welcome our guests warmly and see their dining needs are met.   You’ll assist servers and bussers manage our customers' dining experience by keeping on top of dine-in reservations, call-in and online orders and service flow.  You will be the point person for table management and facilitate merch purchases.   ? Responsibilities Greet customers hospitably and say goodbye warmly with engaging smiles + present vibe. Manage reservations: call-in, online and walk-in. Manage the flow of guests and pace of the restaurant at the door. Handle POS/electronic reservation transactions with accuracy. Contribute to a positive team culture rooted in respect, collaboration, and care by assisting servers in moving tables through service. Set customer and staff expectations by correctly assigning wait times and prompt follow up with guest seating when their table is ready. Provide thoughtful, knowledgeable service with a focus on hospitality and guest connection. Guide guests through our food and drink menus, offering pairing suggestions and seasonal highlights. Ring up and distribute take-out orders to guests and third-party deliverers. Communicate clearly with the kitchen and bar to ensure timely, accurate order execution. Stay informed on 86’d items, specials, and pacing to support smooth service. Maintain dining room look and orderliness,  including table resets and side work. Advise GM and/or Head Chef of any FOH issues in a timely manner. Be able to commit to a minimum of 4 shifts per week including weekend days. ? Qualifications 1+ year previous serving experience in a busy restaurant or wine bar setting. Strong communication and multitasking skills. Familiarity with Mediterranean cuisine, wine, and cocktails is a plus. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment. Toast POS experience a bonus. ?
