Pay: $77900 - $88033 / year (paid hourly) Schedule: M - F; day shift Location: Redmond, WA | Meta campus What this job involves: Join JLL's elite engineering team supporting Meta's mission-critical facilities as a Building Engineer. In this dynamic role, you'll be the technical backbone ensuring seamless operations of sophisticated building systems while leading and mentoring apprentice engineers. You'll work in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment where your expertise directly impacts operational continuity and tenant satisfaction. What your day-to-day will look like: Lead apprentice engineers in troubleshooting and repairing critical system failures to minimize operational downtime Execute preventative maintenance programs and system operations for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life safety systems Maintain detailed tracking logs for chemical consumption, equipment inspections, and operational procedures Coordinate with engineering management and trade specialists to ensure quality services are completed on schedule Respond promptly and professionally to tenant requests and emergency situations following established protocols Implement and execute Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Method of Procedures (MOPs) for system-specific operations Conduct emergency response activities including building evacuations, life safety system management, and coordination with emergency authorities Required Qualifications: 3 years of experience as a Building Engineer or equivalent facilities technical trade with strong commercial HVAC skills High school diploma or equivalent education Demonstrated supervisory and leadership skills with ability to influence and mentor other engineers Proficiency with testing equipment including digital multi-meters, pressure/temperature devices, and air flow measuring equipment Strong knowledge of building systems operations and cross-functional equipment relationships Ability to work flexible shifts including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, holidays, and emergency on-call rotation Must be able to work in both indoor (40%) and outdoor (60%) environments Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in lab and cleanroom environments Specific trade licenses applicable to role (Boiler Operator, Maintenance Electrician, EPA CFC Universal Certification, etc.) Previous experience in high-stress, high-demand operational environments Experience working with vendors for work execution and quality control Background in mission-critical facility operations or data center environments Note: This position requires signing a Non-Disclosure Agreement due to the confidential nature of client operations.
